Running in Cumbria❤️🏃‍♀️

Really enjoying a half term break here in Arnside, where I lived for several years as a child!🙂

I have loved revisiting old memories such as my old house, the school I went to and of course, the very beautiful countryside I was surrounded by.🙂

The weather has really turned the last couple of days, so today’s run along the beach and seafront was very wet and breezy.💨🏃‍♀️🌧 Despite this it was fantastic to be running along roads I have not walked for more than 45 years! I always said I would come back one day and am only sorry it has taken me this long! Arnside - you are as beautiful as I remember!❤️

The photos above have been taken over the last few days - lots of walking. The drowned rat picture of me was taken today at the end of my very wet 5K run!🙂

Lovely photos, beautiful place 😊How great to have a trip down memory lane (although the lane in the photo looks more like a stream 😂). Enjoy your holiday Sandra.

Yes, the rain in that photo ran down past the house we’re staying in -to the sea…!🤣

That looks so nice! What a lovely place to run 😁 and rekindle old memories. I would never have guessed you’d just run a 5k in the wet! You look fab and also very serene 😊.

Beautiful! Love that part of the country, although I guess I just know some of the touristy bits inland where I used to walk the fells. I would say stay safe, but I don't think that part of the coast suffers from flooding?

I am hoping not - the rain just seems to be flowing past the house and down to the sea at the moment !🤞😬

Beautiful. Happy running and walking. And congratulations on finding anyplace non-precipitous to run! We used to spend New Year with friends in Gosforth and loved the walking, but none of it was flat for miles, even the valley floors. 😄🏃🏼‍♀️

I ran close to the beach for the low elevation - everywhere else is hilly even my warm up and warm down!🤣)

Lovely pics 💙 and all wrapped up with memories. Sounds like warm and fuzzy type running, even in the rain ☺️

Welcome back to Cumbria. I’m at the opposite end of Cumbria and yes the weather was awful yesterday so I’m afraid I didn’t run. But arnside and it’s surrounding area is a lovely place. Enjoy your holiday hope the weather improves for you and happy running 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

Thank you 😊

How lovely. A tourist come Memory Lane run. I did my teacher training in Cumbria. Loved it 🥰

I visited Arnside again for a few hours (and an ice cream and a short walk) a few weeks ago.

Did the splits on the slippery mud beyond the coastguard station!

…it’s still very slippery there!🤣

Beautiful part of the world, must also mention Silverdale and the bird reserve there. A great place for a holiday as you can leave the car and get around by train. I've stayed in both Arnside and Grange over Sands (before I was a runner). Must go back next year with my running shoes :)
