Ok, so I am lying in bed monitoring the rainy weather outside our bedroom window, waiting for the rain free window to start. And I can see it coming in the next 40min or so, in both of my weather apps.
I know, I know, some other runners would face the rain and run that long glorious refreshing and very very wet, soggy run.
But I have found some other running activity to keep me at least thinking about my next 10k runs, thanks to the @FootpathApp .
I was still thinking about my aspiration from back in spring, when I graduated from the 10k magic plan, and where I had planned to train up repeatedly to 10k using routes representing all four compass directions.
Well, my 10k consolidation period gives me another impetus to see if a bit of planning around my 10ks and a bit of help from my map apps could help with that.
Result is a series of 8 routes in all directions, two of which I have already run in my past training up to 10k, but six which I have have yet to fully explore.
And it feels great to have this set of routes in my back pocket! They also include two routes on canal tow paths and two on ex-rail lines. All of them are mainly trail, with a few road sections as connectors between different public footpaths. Only one or the other stile. One particularly has a couple of hilly sections.
So all looking good for my future 10ks. I think I’m fortunate to live in a running-route rich region! Thank you, running gods!
So now up and off on that 10k run! Happy running everyone!
