Tonight I managed to achieve my first 7km. I've been practicing running for between 50 and 60 minutes and each time feeling a bit more comfortable (but still a challenge!). Tonight I got to 7km in just over 56 mins. Worn out but very pleased.

Brilliant, it feels like such an achievement! (I did my first 7k on Saturday, about 10 minutes slower than you)

Thanks Oldbadknees. It's the 7km that's important, not the time. I just wonder when I'll ever manage 10km. We'll done you too!

A year ago I thought 1km was an impossibility, now 10 seems achievable. Great, isn’t it 😀

It certainly does. I think the key to it is, practice, patience and slow it down. Good luck for your next run!

Well done, that is a great achievement, and you are wise to take it slow. 10k will be waiting for you, when you are ready 👏

Thank you Woollyweaver . I am not in a massive rush to achieve my 10km. But have never felt this way about running before, each run I am just itching to get out there and get going. I've got the bug 😀

Well done :) I only got to 10k over the weekend, and it has taken me some time to get there. I found that the first few times I got to about the 7.5 - 8k (60 min) mark I felt really exhausted, so the thought of adding more distance wasn't appealing. But it's great how the body adapts and after some time it started feeling easier and I added the last couple of km on over a couple of weeks. You'll get to 10k, if you want to - if not, enjoy what you're doing.

Thanks Devon_straggler. Wise words indeed. I'll just keep on practicing and try to remain positive. 🙂
