7km with a running group before digging

I'm having difficulty getting motivated on days with no sunshine so decided to go out with a local running group. I did a very happy 7km with a lovely chatty group member. I 'ran' up 'The Beast' a rather mean hill (v slowly). Then off I went to volunteer with a local canal group and did some core work by digging. I also found out 2 of my volunteer group are runners and have found out about a local trail running group, so will join them one Sat morning and give that a go too.

There is another group that go out in the evenings so now the evenings are getting lighter I'm planning on joining them too.

So much fun to come!

Oooh digging is very hard on your core and back so take care! And use the other leg from time to time as we tend to use the same dominant one. But you probably know this already 😏

The local trail running sounds good 🙂

I used to love hard physical labour til I got ill. It's nice to be well enough to do a little bit again. I feel ok today so think I got away with it ⛏

Sounds really good BTP. Haven't tried running with anyone else yet...my brain is usually occupied with some knotty problem or another and my ears are listening to the birds...so maybe I am a born Lonely Long Distance Runner. So glad that good work is being done on the canal. Low flows, high phosphorus levels, low dissolved oxygen etc etc all harming insect fish and plant life ....good to see the community fighting back! Rivers and canals are truly magical places. 😊😊

Well done on running 7k and talking at the same time! And then digging too! You must have loads of energy 😃😃

I don't do that every day!

That sounds great! Maybe I should look at local running groups too. I've just started waitressing and so far no one runs... I suppose we walk about 7km in the restaurant as a minimum so maybe they feel we need the exercise less. Still promoting C25K everywhere, feel I need some business cards for it and HU!

Yes, enough time is always a problem.

Busy, busy, busy! Sounds like a very productive day and you now have lots of options for more running groups. Sounds great! Definitely give the trail group a go 😻, my fav runs!

Digging is incredibly hard isn’t it Baddie? I’m impressed you ran and dug. I usually run and flop! Good for you. 👍💪👊🏃‍♀️

I'm really happy to be fit enough to do it again. Mind you, I did a fair amount of chatting too. Less energetic but not as good for the core muscles 😁
