My Bournemouth Supersonic 5k

I arrived about half an hour early with my daughter and grandchildren. We sat on a wall taking in the event which hosted a marathon, 10k, 5k and a junior 2k. Much to my surprise some friends made an appearance, no going back now I thought. We lined up in the start pen with a count down in our ears, the start gun went and we shuffled to the start line to the sound of drums, I could feel the adrenaline kicking in. The drums went faster and louder as we crossed the start line and the supersonic 5k started with a roar from the crowd.

The 5k route took us down the coast for just over 2k then back again onto Bournemouth pier then back again up a small incline to the finish.

So how did I do.

All kilometres under 6:54

PB of 33:05

Position 206 of 315

Category Over 70 Male

Now the proud owner of a medal and Finisher T shirt.

A day of fantastic memories.

Many thanks to the organisers and Event Team.
