Running Every Day

So having completed my challenges for September I found myself a little lost last week, and without really realising it I ran 4 days in a row - two 'proper' runs and two little outings of c.3K. I felt great, and decided to see how it felt to continue for the rest of the week.

My runs went: Mon 7K - Tues 3K - Wed 6K - Thurs 3K - Fri 4K - Sat 5K - Sun 6K

Total 34K

I ran everything at a slow pace and varied the time of day to fit with Work/Life.

I was wary of strains and pulls, but as usual, went hard with the stretching all week. I've noticed two really interesting benefits - my stamina has improved, the end of the week felt easier than the start, and my VO2Max has jumped up a few levels.

I actually ran again today so its up to 8 days but I will likely have a break tomorrow.

Really enjoying it at the moment!

It’s always good to mix things up a bit and it sounds as if your mixing is working well for you! As long as you keep an eye on the weekly mileage increases you should be fine 🙂

I will keep trying things to see what works - the interesting thing is the last 3/4 weeks have all been around this distance - usually 2 long and two mid - I have just split them between 7 shorter runs this week. I keep hearing that varying things keeps your body adapting and reacting.

Exactly! You can run the same mileage each week but vary the individual runs considerably. And it’s fun!

Well done!

I've done a maximum of six in a week so far. I keep Friday as a rest day so that I'm fresher for parkrun. I say it's a "rest day" but I usually end up doing a 10km hike in the evening.

I found that with v02max as well, I ran 5 days in a row and it went up a little every day
