Running every day

Lockdown happened, and I started working from home. This involves being in close proximity to the kitchen and like many others I rapidly gained a stone while adjusting to this new lifestyle. So I signed up to some virtual challenges. I ran a marathon in May (across the whole month, not in one go) and in June I signed up to run every day. I’ve never done this before but it has been amazing so far and I’m loving it. My Garmin says my VO2 max has gone up 4 points in two weeks and I feel so much fitter. Some days I do 5k, some days I only do 2. I don’t really have much in the way of a plan, just take each days as I feel. Probably what I have enjoyed the most (I can’t believe I’m saying this) is running intervals, pushing myself harder to go faster, but over shorter distances not just the same old same old 5k time after time. It’s fairly flat where I live so I may have to drive somewhere at the weekend to find some hills to run up as my next challenge!!

I'm sure your lockdown weight gain will soon go with all the running and staying away from the fridge of course🤣

Congratulations on running a marathon in may and good luck with your every day in June runs 😊

Great effort all these mixed distances and intervals. Enjoy the hills when you teach them. Happy running 🤗

Well done on challenging yourself. 👍 I have not tried running every day - glad you are enjoying it, well done.

Fantastic! You’ve been on a roll and that’s clearly agreeing with you! 👏👏👏

I’m with you on the intervals. Normally they’re not my bag at all, but I’ve just done a week of incorporating W1R1 into all my runs, a) to mix it up a bit and b) because I need to push myself to want to run faster! I’ve run/jogged the intervals and found I’ve really enjoyed it. Who knew? 😅

Keep up your great routine and have fun finding some hills too! 😀

What a great variety of runs. It should help keep the interest and motivation up and the weight down. Have fun 😊
