It was only 4K and rather slow. But at 6:30pm there was plenty of shade. I poured cold water over my head and did a warm up walk and just did it! I was worried it might be too hot, but actually it was fine. That 10K (really two 5Ks) on Saturday slowed me down. But at least I know that if I take it easy on Wednesday I can do a slow 5K and keep ticking things over. Just keep to the shade VRBs.

Well done for getting out there!
I’m thankful I’m not working…I intent to do any running over the next few days in the early morning!

Wow well done, it *is* warm out there! I thought that was that for this year but the weather has other ideas 😃 nice to have a bit of late summer sunshine 🌞🍂

Well done for getting out there in the heat, think of it as an extra workout and when the weather turns cold you will be zooming around 😅

Stay in the shade! I was a bit nervous about it actually. But once I started I felt fine. I don't think I would ever be doing it in direct sunlight in the middle of the day! In fact in June/July when it was hot (for a few days!) I didn't go out as the shade didn't appear until it was too late for me ie after 7:30.
Phew! Shade or not, 27 is hot… especially when we’re unaccustomed to it. You took your running to a new level there, demystifying the unknown, and managing your effort with the ‘ticking over’ approach.
Well done and speed doesn't matter. Coach Bennett also says, when it is hot: slow down even more!
