Laura says run to the beach?

Quest week 2.

This week I decided to follow the Speed Podcast in the C25KPLUS+ podcast series.

Paying more attention now to my warm up period, I set off on my usual circular run of about 3km. Wondering if I would complete it in any less than my usual slow run time, now not including warmup/down, of 30 minutes.

There are two versions of each of these podcasts, one has a full introduction, one is just the bare bones music and instructions. I did Stepping Stones, so being blasé, I chose no intro.

Came as a surprise, just over half way through, Laura is telling me ‘well done, now walk five minutes’. I was a Km from the end of my run let alone the walk too. So I wound it back and repeated some to fill my self allotted time.

So for next time, I will listen to the intro version, work out halfway and do ‘out and back’. Trouble is it is downhill all the way to the beach, and uphill all the way back!

Then again how does Laura know I live near the beach?

Hang onto her every word 😁👍😃. I always listen to the full intro version, not wanting to miss her tips

Well done 😃. Keep mixing them up. It’ll pay off.

😁👍. No worries. I’m a big fan of Laura. I still have her pearls of wisdom ringing in my ears when I find my shoulders sloping on long runs Pretend you’re trying to peer over a high hedge. Run tall. That sorta thing. 😃

With reputations for achievement such as you two Ladies have.

I listen!

Laura apparently said beaT, by the way. I listened there too.

Sorry for duplicating my post, OldFloss in Admin hat. Can half be deleted?

Is it wrong to admit that I’ve never heard Laura? I feel like I missed out somehow! I had MJ throughout C25K and I hung on his every word. 😀

Sounds like you’re enjoying running with your podcasts Hatman. You’re doing brilliantly! 👏👏👏👏

Whatever turns you on CC! First couple of weeks I ran with Sarah Millican, on the basis that if she can do it in slippers! Then I stand a chance. Well done on your achievements over your past year. 🥂👍👏🥂👍👏

Thanks! We owe a lot to our C25K coaches don’t we? 😀😀

Certainly do! C25K rocks!

I started c25k with Laura, but then discovered Jo Whiley who got me to graduation and a couple of weeks beyond. But like cheekychipmunks, I managed to get all the way to 10k without doing the recommended post grad apps. I think I might go back and try them.

Great run hatman 🏃‍♂️🎩👏👏

Thanks Dexy5. Another senior seaside strider, I see. Me, my third s is for Shuffler. I enjoyed the 3 Stepping Stones podcasts. Beware they are different lengths. SS total 40 mins, Speed 26, Stamina Total 45. The speed one caught me out! Keep enjoying your runs.

Ha ha, I think if I lived in hilly Devon I would be shuffling too. 😂

Fortunately some bits near the beaches are flat. Once you get down to them. Keep enjoying your seaside runs.
