Postcards, morning runs, mowers and exploding sports bras …

6.5k this morning. I had to get going the moment I woke up, as I had a work meeting later.

Again, it shows the progress I’ve made. In my first year of running, having a work meeting first thing in the morning would have meant I would have chosen not to run that morning. Not anymore. I just needed to get out there the moment I woke. And I did.

I wanted to get some longer runs in, and this was supposed to be a 7.5k or so, but my playing-field was being mowed by a gigantic mowing vehicle which I did not fancy running in front of or behind. Bad for me today and I had to skip this section, but good to know that in the coming days the grass around the rim of the playing field will be nicely mowed. No way for those stumbling-holes to hide!

But I added a section through the village, so managing to glue together a 6.5k route, and felt still quite energetic afterwards. (I even had 5min to spare between shower and meeting!)

On end2end I just got a halfway postcard!!!! I know, I know. All my fellow LeJog4 runners have finished by now, but slow and steady is this now LeJog10 runner’s motto! I’ll get there.

I also sneaked in some Zombies into this run, and what … was …. that !!!???? EXPLODING SPORTS BRAS!!!??? Literally exploding! (No spoilers but it all happens in season 2 of Zombies, Run! 🤣👙🤣)

Happy running everyone and congratulations again to all world record holders!

That was a real achievement getting out the doir before a morning meeting. Then gaily trotting a 6.5k with lots left in the tank? Well done you!!!

Intriguing!!! Well done! I snuck a little tiny run in before a training day in my new teaching job but I'm struggling for time already this week! Although I have a race on Sunday so probably should rest a bit this week 🤔 I asked my friends to keep making sure I'm running so I don't miss it

It’s difficult, isn’t it. As long as we run regularly, I think we should be proud of ourselves! 👍🏽👏💪🏃🏼‍♀️

I am impressed that you got in a 6.5km before a meeting - well done for getting up and going 👍 If I am going to keep up three runs a week I will need to do one run before work (Wed or Thurs). I have managed a 4km once before work but it is a bit of a rush (get up earlier I hear you say!!)!

Yeah, it’s hard isn’t it? Somehow in my first year of running it seemed easier. Now with running being a more normal thing, it doesn’t always get me out early enough. So I commiserate and the getting up early is also something I need to work on.

Phew, I thought you were going to say your sports bra had exploded and I would then include an advertorial for ShockAbsorbers

🤣🤣🤣👙

I am always jealous of people getting out so early. But I get up at 5:50 to leave for work at 6:50 and I am really not getting up even earlier! Plus it is dark now this early and I'm not feeling like a run in the park when it is dark.

Well done and enjoy the nicely mowed fields on your next run!
