Finally after 4 weeks of hardly moving I’m back to running. Did C25K week 1 as I really must take it easy. This is, I think, the seventh time I’ve done it. I remember how difficult it was back in March. Today I hardly broke a sweat, a real testament to how much we improve our health through exercise.
So I’m back to running through the empty fields singing my head off when the mood takes me. Bliss.
The only downside is a massive blister a couple of cm across on my ankle. Thankfully it didn’t puncture. I don’t think it’s down to my new trainers which are fantastic, I found that there was a raised knitted stitch on the inside of my sock which had rubbed so I binned it. The other sock was terry lined. I thought they were a matching pair, oh well...
I’ll be wearing a sticky plaster for a few days but otherwise I feel great today, no aches or pains at all 😁

Ooh sounds wonderful! I can tell that you really enjoyed that 🤗 Welcome back.
The blister sounds ouchy and that’s an unusual place to get one. Do you wear specific running socks? You can get some that are double-lined and these help prevent blisters.
Thanks, I’ve not had a blister for years (comfort is my number one priority for footwear). The blister is sort of over the tendon at the back. I went for a short walk in flat sling back sandals this morning and the blister has now burst but I’ve cleaned it and put a fresh plaster on and it’s not been paint so 🤞🏻 I was wearing cheapie trainer socks, they looked identical but one had a nice terry lining and the other had the lumpy stitching that caused the problem. Maybe running socks are needed to complete my ‘all the gear, no idea’ aesthetic 😂
