so I did an old faithful.. C25k+Speed. It’s a long time since I did this one and I have obviously slowed down since 2 bouts of Covid….
I have been quite chuffed recently to find I have been running at below 14 mins a mile. And when she said “ We’ll start with 5 mins slow running, then do 6 x 1 mins intervals of fast and 6 of slower. “ I thought oh that sounds ok. Well I started off and the warmup walk was fine and then the 5 mins “slow” run started and it was faster than my usual running speed 😂. And when she said “Here we go with 1 min of fast running” I could barely keep up. I did get into it by about the 3rd one and then after that it was just a blur … “and then walk” . Thank goodness!! I did manage to keep running for the first 3 mins of cool-down to round it up to 20 mins as it seemed such a short run.
But then when I got home and uploaded my run I realised that I had run at least a whole minute a mile faster than usual. @ 12:21 min/mile. So that cheered me up. I don’t mind that it was a struggle now.
And as it was before 7 when I ran I also had time to do my Pilates session with Ruth via ZOOM, when I had got back home and eaten my breakfast , as a cooldown and stretch exercise. So now I feel nice and loose and limber and ready to face the day …. Well I will after I’ve showered anyway 😁
