Hi all. I was enjoying doing the 10k schedule and then next week hit with what I thought was a cold then turns out to be COVID. Double jabbed so symptoms are not too bad just feel a bit wiped out sometimes no taste or smell and a cough. 26 July I can get back to normal as self isolating ends but anyone got advice on how they got back to running after COVID? I was about to do 7 km so around week 4 of the magic plan but I think I’m going to need to go back a step. Photo of my dog lily (closest in the picture) and her doppelgänger jazz for interest! Thanks all

Running after COVID
I guess everyone's experience of covid will be different, there have been some here that had a long lasting experience and re started the c25k program and others that went back a few weeks .I think all you can do is to go for a run with no pressure or expectations and see where you are .
But don't be to hard on yourself , take it slowly .
Depending on how you feel, if it was me I’d go out for a gentle run and see how I felt, after I was very ill last year my first run was the slowest 1k ever and then I knew what I could do and where to start from, good luck in rebuilding your fitness but take time and be kind to yourself
I too was double jabbed and had Covid a couple of weeks ago. I’m out of isolation for 10 days now and have attempted 3 runs. I had only recently completed c25k and notched up my first couple of 5k runs, so not experienced at all. My latest runs have been much harder than I thought they’d be and I’ve struggled with breathing for the first time. Many kind folk on this site have advised me to take it easy and not rush back to running and I’m going to try taking some extra days off. Thankfully the weather is so hot it’s less tempting to leave the house. Hoping the weekend rain will be perfect for a nice cool slow jog.
Best wishes for your recovery. Take it easy 😁
Not aware of having had Covid, (but there are a lot of us wondering if that thing we had in Jan 2 yrs ago…) so no advice, just good wishes for your recovery.
I haven't had Covid but if it were me, I would go out on a circular route, so you can bail out if need be - rather than an out and back where you might find yourself some distance from home with a sudden energy dip . Start slowly, and plan for 2 or 3 K, perhaps easing up to 5 if it's going well.
best of luck xx
