Help! Advice wanted.

I wear the Hoka Bondi 7 running trainers, which absolutely ruin my feet now I'm doing over 5k. I have quite a high bridge/arch of my feet and the trainers are causing blistering from the side of my big toe, right down the inside of my foot to the point my arch is too high to touch the trainer.

Its putting me off running now, but I spent a decent amount of money on them during the first lockdown so I'm not really wanting to get rid (also because they're purple which is my favourite colour and the main reason I bought them - silly I know!!πŸ˜‚πŸ˜«πŸ™ˆ)

Do you think I'd be able to get insoles for these trainers or if I need to change altogether?

Also to note, I do wear running socks, use zinc tape & also find the trainers bouncy when running (in a good way).

Any advice welcome! πŸ‘πŸΌ

Sounds to me like the trainers are not doing you any favours, did you buy them from a proper Running shop after a gait analysis? If so maybe you could return them? Sounds painful πŸ₯Ί

Hi πŸ‘‹πŸΌ unfortunately not.. I bought them online when we went into lockdown & all shops shut. I bought them based on the fact they are road/treadmill running trainers & I love the colour, which is daft I know!! πŸ™ˆ

That's such a shame, I had bought two pairs online during lockdown also,

they did me for a while, but once I started running further than 5K I knew I needed a better pair,

Honestly if they are causing your feet to blister you really need a new pair, I know they are expensive.. but you won't be able to run at all if your feet are hurting this way πŸ₯Ί

I'm the same, up to about 5k is ok, anything further causes the issues.I'm going to pop into a running shoe shop tomorrow to see if I can get insoles for them, but if not you're right & I'll have to get a new pair.. I'll be making sure to have a gait analysis done before buying this time though! πŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈ

Sorry your trainers are causing so much pain, they should be your most comfortable shoe. You say you bought them during lockdown 1- you may well be needing to replace them by now anyway, I’m on my 3rd pair in that time. They will only last 600k, I can sometimes squeeze 800 out of a pair. Forget make and colour, go to a proper running shop, take sound advice, should be 1/2 to 1 size larger than normal shoe, expect to pay around Β£120. If they are not the most comfortable perfect fitting shoe you have ever worn during your 1st couple of runs go straight back to the shop. Happy running πŸ€—

There still pretty much brand new - these have never been cleaned! You must do a lot more running than me πŸ˜‚ I'm mostly a treadmill runner so I think less wear? I'm definitely going to have to replace though, thanks for the advice 😊

My husband and I both bought Hokas during the first lockdown (they must have some amazing PR). I like them very much but I don't feel they've lasted nearly as well as my Brooks Adrenalines.

Ahh really, that's interesting to know. Mine have lasted so far, but possibly because I'm a treadmill runner! πŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈ
