So having completed C25K, I decided to continue running every other day, on the treadmill or out, whatever I felt like. On the treadmill I was sprinting for the last 2 mins and on the road I was doing less walking in warm up and down and running for about 35ish minutes - all going great until Saturday.
Ran in the morning got my 5k and my hip was sore - didn't feel any better as the day wore on and then I got up from the sofa and next thing I was on the floor. It has been killing every since - I am hobbling about taking ibuprofen and ice.
Today I walked to work 20mins and put an ice patch on and noticed that there is a huge bruise there. I didn't fall on that side, it was as if my hip gave way - to this day I have had not aches or pains not even a stitch. Any one else experienced anything similar - Any advice would be a god send!! 🤦♀️

Can't help with the bruise, but where exactly is the pain? I for example regularly get pain from my sciatic nerve being squeezed by my piriformis muscle. The pain locates itself more or less inside my buttocks, but some might think it is the hip. The pain can be excruciating, I even had to walk with crutches last year when it played up.
Thanks for responding, it is very deep in the right hip, saying that it is sore to touch but that could be because of the massive bruise. It would make sense if I had fallen on it but nope!
I have had both vaccines, but this bruising is exactly where the hip pain is I think I probably need to visit the GP. I don't want to do something wrong that puts pay to my running - I have been so happy to have got to this stage, I can't just give it up!
That doesn't sound right Tryhard48 . Without wishing to alarm you, if you're sure you haven't fallen or banged your hip, I'd get that bruise and pain checked out by your GP or another medical professional, just in case there's internal bleeding.
Not medically trained of course but it sounds as though you may have slightly torn a muscle? I had a calf tear several years ago and experienced bruising with this. I think seeing a GP is a good idea - it may help with your recovery if you know what you are dealing with as you need to let tears heal properly.
Fingers crossed for you but keep the faith! Since healing, I have had no further problems with my calf and my injury was 5 years ago now.🤞😀
I'd definitely consult your gp if you have unexplained bruising and pain.
It may be nothing though, I had some weird bruising a few years ago, I was on a train and the train did some sort of emergency stop, I grabbed poles with both hands and hung on for dear life, 2 days later I had pain and huge bruises on both my triceps, which I had torn when they got jerked as I was hanging on. The moral is you don't have to bang it to bruise it
