Entirely by chance (and maybe helped by the lack of internet where he was staying over the weekend) Irish-John was the first to cross the finish line at COGH on 29 May.
Also by chance, AlMorr was the first to log his group run (on his 50th not Park Run).
Since then, we have had 56 runners who have participated in the group run to the finish.
Together, over 3 months, we have run 25,999.68km in 3404 runs.
It has been brilliant! Thanks to all that took part. And thanks for the survey feedback which was overwhelmingly positive.
Thanks for the final update. Brilliantly well organised and fun. Have done a couple of other virtual events (eg LEJOG) and this was much more enjoyable as I felt involved and was glad that even if I couldn't run, my walk distances were all valid contributions to the group effort! I'm not a Facebook user so seeing posts from others in our group on this site was very welcome. Thanks once again 😀👍👏👏
Well done IJ! And well done to everyone who came up with the idea, planned it all and then organised it - you’re an amazing bunch and I thank you for making it so much fun for the rest of us! I’m sad it’s all over but will continue to wear my tee shirt with pride!
Well done, all runners & walkers! 🎉🤸🏽♂️🎉 What a brilliant (virtual) journey it has been. And thank you SO much to the fantastic folks who thought of the idea and then implemented it. And to those who researched all the places - and the foods! - that enlivened the trail.
The COGH website was brilliantly designed and so easy to use. Great information making the whole experience really enjoyable. Made me keep going with my new running pastime when I might otherwise have given up. Thank you C1, I-J, RAS and all involved. So glad I was part of the team. 😀😀😀
Congratulations Charlies1, well done to everyone who took part in the COGH Challenge, I didn't realise that I was first to log my group run although I did know that it was my 50th not parkrun.
Awwwhhh, well deserved Irish-John. And big thanks to everyone involved in setting this up and then all those who ran!!! And those food and other stories! Fab stuff! 🎉🎉🎉
Thank you to all the organisers of COGH, I loved being part of 'the team' reading the updates and following our progress.Such a great idea...let's do another one soon!😉🏃♀️🏃♂️🏃♀️🏃♂️🏃♂️🏃♂️🏃♀️🏃♀️🐕🐕🐕🎉🎉🎉xxx
Congratulations to all runners and a huge thank you to all involved in organising the various aspects. I've enjoyed being part of the team. Wearing my t-shirt with pride.
A big thank you to all the organisers 👍🏻 and a big well done to all the runners 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻I’ve really enjoyed this challenge and have missed it the last couple of days.
Thanks for the update. Congratulations Irish-John AlMorr and all my fellow COGH team members and everyone involved in organizing this.It was an amazing journey and I loved being part of this. What a fantastic incentive to get out there when I really wasn't feeling it at all
Really well done to all the runners. I’m afraid I tailed off as my hip has been playing upside couldn’t run for the last few weeks. Thank you so much to all the organisers for all their hard work
Thanks for this and for all the efforts from the organising team. It’s been great fun and a wonderful feeling to be part of something so special. Brilliant.
Very belated reply: Absolutely loved COGH. Thanks a million to the organisers: Irish-John Charlies1 RunaroundSue Bereavement took me away from participating in the public forum on HU in the later stages, but just being able to log my COGH runs/walks every day (or almost) was so, so important for me. Something to hold on to and something to motivate me as a key part of my life crumbled. The daily run/walk helped me navigate my grief and celebrate the life that was lost. Sorry I wasn't part of the team finish; my solitude meant I completely missed that. Thanks, again.
