I am over the moon π, Iβve just done my longest run ever! Today was the day, and I just thought why not give it a go! I kept it nice and slow so as to have enough in the tank, and didnβt really start to feel tired until about 11k π. I wanted to listen to Coach Bennettβs 13.1k run, but the app wasnβt playing ball. So just music for me today.
I set out early for me, about 7:30, and it was lovely and quiet for the most part. Lots of little birds darting about, sheep and cows in fields. And the weather, well, hallelujah.
So, stretches are done, coffeeβs on, and itβs a bank holiday weekend. Life is good. Happy running all! πββοΈπββοΈπ

Ah thank you so much limu_mu for your kind words - I am very chuffed, I have to say π. Itβs not often I inspire someone, so thatβs really nice of you to say so π. Youβre not doing so bad yourself! πββοΈπββοΈπββοΈ
Oh thank you, it was lovely! Especially with the random rain drop π. Iβll be egging you on for your second run tomorrow - I may well be doing something sofa related π.
Sofa related sounds great, we will be walking this evening and hills involved but we havenβt done much lately maybe he vaccine did tire us out without realising, now I want to be out and doing
Did you take any fuel along with you? After my first 13km run I found my legs had turned to jelly when I stopped running.

I did π - I took a Belvita chewy biscuit thing with chocolate in the middle that I nibbled on about half way round. Even though Iβd already had porridge an hour or so before, I get hungry! I did an 11k sort of by mistake a while back, and my legs were the same as yours, really wobbly. That was when I realised the importance of an onboard snack π.
Well done! Just a question, but did you eat anything before running? I do wonder when it gets hot how to do my runs. In the week I can't but run after work. But in the weekend I could go earlier.
Hi Evy, I ate porridge with chocolate flavour protein powder about an hour before, then I nibbled on a Belvita breakfast biscuit during the run. Otherwise my legs would have gone a bit like jelly I think. I went earlier than I usually would at the weekend so I didnβt get too warm! πββοΈπββοΈπββοΈ
Well do you ππ, its lovely getting out there early morning with all the wildlife waking up it just bliss π, not as tho I can hear them cos of my 80s tunes banging out in my ear..π..
Gosh, well done Frenc.... Don't those .'s count! I did my longest yesterday, 12.09..... Was very pleased... Inching forwards. It's getting hot tho so I'm going to have to start ever earlier to beat the heat....I love it but can't run in it. What is you current goal? I Sy 'current' as last summer 5k was mine...and the goal posts seem to move!

Thank you Mormor1! And well done on your run too. I agree, itβs getting a bit on the warm side, so the earlier the better - but trying telling that to my body when the alarm goes off π. I havenβt really had a goal apart from trying to run injury free for the moment. Having said that, maybe 10 miles at some point. Weβll see! Happy running πββοΈπββοΈππ.
What a fantastic run Frenc! Iβve just been catching up on posts, so you are probably all recovered from this wonderful run and either planning or have run your next one. Happy sunny running ππββοΈβοΈ
Thank you Delly-dot! My hips were very stiff the next day, I have to say π. I did another short run today, but it was super hot - now I know why people run very early. All the best πππ.
