Consolidation week five (I think !) finding time !

I loved c25k and managed to generally run three times a week. Since I finished I seem to struggle a lot more to get 3 clear runs in. So it often ends up three one week and two the next

Why was I able to manage it on the app and not now ? Anyone else having the same issue ?

If your anything like me your probably looking for some structure in your consolation running. I found mine in the NHS 12-wk Fitness Plan for C25K consolidation. nhs.uk/live-well/exercise/1.... This combines strength and flex with CR running. You could also check out Ju-Ju magic plan.

I loved doing the NHS 12 week plan for consolidation. We actually amended it for the post C25k period, and one could even increase the runs by 10% weekly, after the first few weeks. Here the link: healthunlocked.com/strength...

For me having a plan really helps, so hope you find your plan.

Having said that, running 2 times per week (rather than 3 times) is great as well and allows great recovery. That’s not a bad thing!

Since completing C25K last year, I’ve only done about two runs a week. At most, a run every third day. I found three too much. I think it’s okay; keeps me keen.

Hi Badrun

Like Snail61 I think it might be borne by a sense of not progressing on a programme. But don't beat yourself up! You're still maintaining your fitness and you can now think about taking on your next running challenge!

Have just had a look at the consolidation plan. I hadn’t seen that before. Will give it a go. Thank you ! Although I do tend to be pushing a little faster on runs now so maybe that’s also why i “can’t find time “ when I feel tired too 😂

They say if you can run at least twice a week that will be OK, since graduating from C25K my running days have been Wednesday and Saturday, when I was doing C25K I also ran on a Monday, I am sure as long as you can run on two days a week you should still maintain your general fitness. 😊 🏃🏾

Life gets in the way and without the structure of a plan it's really easy to prioritise other things ahead of your run time. Try to think of run time as "me" time, it might help to push it up the priority ladder.

I can only run twice a week every other week when I work Sunday, and 3 times on the other weeks. Don't beat yourself up over it. So long as you run "regularly" ie, at least once a week, you're still a "runner" 👍🏻😁
