Tuesday 4th May 2021, my double C25K Graduation Day πππ§Έπ§Έπ§Έππ¦ππ¦ππ¦βοΈβοΈ!! I truly canβt believe that I am writing this post and have completed Week 9, Run 3!!!
What a special day it has been, thank you to my lovely Coach π§Έπ΄σ §σ ’σ ·σ ¬σ ³σ Ώ, you are the best, so sorry about the hills!!!
I canβt believe how quickly the last 9 weeks have gone. It really has been such an amazing life lesson realising an inner strength πͺπͺπͺand determination, never ever wanting to give up, βοΈβοΈβοΈalways believing in yourself, being kind to yourself, amazing friendships π₯°π₯°π₯°π§Έπand support and the realisation ππ¦ππ¦ππ¦ππ¦ππ¦ππ¦ππ¦ππ¦ππ¦that sometimes in life you do need to go backwards to move forward and actually that is OKπππππππππππππ.
I felt so excited and just a tiny little nervous to complete the final run today. It was comforting knowing Coach was out there running this with me. I wanted to run this run in my favourite park π³π³π³π³π³π³π³π³π³π³π³π³π³ and I knew I wanted to finish near my tree of Hope πΎπΎπΎπΎπΎπΎπΎπΎπΎπΎπΎπΎπΎπΎπΎπΎπΎπ§Έπ§Έπ§Έπ§Έπ§Έπ§Έπ§Έπ§Έπ§Έπ§Έπ§Έπ§Έπ§Έπ§Έπ§Έπ§Έ
It was really windy at the start of the run π¬π¬but then the sun came out and it was so beautiful in the sunshine ππππππππππ. My plan was to aim for a sub 30 minute 5k. It was an emotional run thinking back to how sad I felt having long Covid symptoms and not been able to run anymore and the emptiness that left but I have always been a fighter and I knew in my heart that there was no way that I could let Covid beat me and not have running in my life so that is why I did C25K again. ππ₯ππ₯ππ₯ππ₯ππ₯ππ₯ππ₯ππ₯
My legs felt really strong during the run and I actually felt like a real life running warrior!! I ran 5:59km in 30 minutes and I ran 5.02km in 27:06 minutes β‘οΈβ‘οΈβ‘οΈβ‘οΈβ‘οΈwhich I was so delighted with and really made me see how far I have come. My splits were: 5:38, 5:18, 5:14, 5:23, 5:24.
I could not have done this without everyoneβs support, you truly have all been so kind and supportive to me and it has meant the worldπππππππππππππππππ
I now hand the C25K double graduation π πππππππππππππππbaton over to lovely Sarah @Indielass00
running warrior and wish you all the good luck and happiness on your journey and I will be cheering you on.
Thank you all my lovely running friends π₯°π₯°π₯°

πββοΈ. πββοΈ
Your 5K time is nearly as quick as mine, Iβll have to watch myself π

Wow Rebecca, you got there!!! π€π€π€ it really feels like we were all running our own c25k's again, and know that graduation feeling, and how good it feels βΊβΊβΊ you really went through it with the covid, but have come back so strongly, what an inspiration you've been for anyone going through the same thing, enjoy this moment, and is that you who whizzed past me last night!!! π¨πββοΈπ¨π₯³π₯³π₯³π₯³π₯³
Aww Peter44 thank you so very much for the kind words so lovely of you. Ha ha need to build up my distance now, so looking forward to the consolidation runs and working my way back up to running 10k. Take care and enjoy your next run
Congratulations Rebecca on graduating for the second time from C25K, excellent sub 30 minute 5k time as well, I don't think that you any longer have long covid, is 27.06 a faster time than when you graduated from C25K the first time?, I am sure all of your 5K runs will be run under 30 minutes, once again a big congratulations π π ππΎ π ππΎ π
Many thanks AlMorr . I still have a few symptoms going on but nothing like before, feeling very blessed.
My last graduation was on 21st September and my time was 4.78km in 30 minutes. So looking forward to starting the consolidation runs now and dreaming of being able to run 10km again in the future.
Firstly, mahoosive congratulations on your graduation and your amazing sub 30 5k, and last, but not least, your impressive use of emojis! π€£
What a happy post. I know just how you feel (except for the sub 30 bit! ), and I hope this graduation was every bit as exciting as the first time round! Well done you. ππ₯π₯πββοΈπ π
Yay Rebecca you did it! I have a tear in my eye Iβm so proud that you came back fighting and itβs all paid off. Love that you said sometimes you have to go backwards to go forwards, that is so true.
You connected everything together for your final run, your favourite park, number one Coach and your baby π².
Sounds like the perfect run and your speed is amazing!
Happy double graduation and I canβt wait to see what you do next.
Thanks for passing on the baton! Iβm hoping I can get all the way through the programme without a break.

Reading this is giving me hope! Certainly was nowhere near your pace to begin with but have really struggled with running post covid. 8 and 9 minute per k instead of 6 or 7. And then feeling so exhausted that i have to have an extra rest day and nana naps. Hopefully over the next few weeks this will improve.
Aw I am so sorry @Hiping that you had the virus too. Massive well done to you for getting back out there, truly amazing you should be so incredibly proud of yourself. The fatigue really is dreadful isnβt it. I think the running and Vegan diet has helped me so much, physically though I am not as strong as I used to be. Nana naps ohh I so love that. Take care of yourself I wish you a speedy recovery and good luck with your running fellow Long Covid running warrior. I Would really love to hear how you get on. Happy running ππ¦ππͺβ‘οΈπ
Fabulous, fabulous, faaaaaaaabulous!!!!! I'm so happy for you - you're such a fighter and deserve every minute of the post- graduation glow. Amazing to get a sub 30 5k into the bargain. Onwards!!! π€ΈββοΈππββοΈπΎπ₯ππ₯³ππππ
