Unforeseen badger issues

Bit of a walk run 5k today. Just nursing tiny niggles after interval run.

Passing the nature reserve, there was a poor dead badger in the lane. I thought I’d better move it out of the way of traffic. Not particularly squeamish but needed some barrier between myself and the body. No handy doggie doo bags- just a couple of tissues in my pocket. So I used one and got the tail and put poor Broc on the verge.

Being someone who detests litter, especially near the nature reserve I popped the tissue back in my pocket making a mental note not to touch it.

Bit further on and my exercise induced rhinitis (snotty nose) started. Wait... which pocket was not infested with badger germs! 😩 No! Couldn’t remember!

It was like the Russian roulette in a handy pack 😢. Gave up and used sleeve. Which is gross 🤢 but not as bad as badger germs.

Poor poor Broc...

Really impressed with your commitment to litter despite sleeeve! 👍

Oh dear Comfort, in the circumstances the sleeve seems ideal 😊, poor Broc indeed but your post made me smile 🤗

Oh Comfort, well done for putting poor Broc in a more comfortable place. As another squeamish soul, I admire you greatly. What a tissue dilemma though 🤢. I’d have done exactly the same!

Tissues are essentially wood pulp and are compostable. In that specific case, I would have left it with the badger. It would have rotted away within a month.
