On Sunday I had run 6 km in a virtual race. I took 2 days of rest and planned on running again on Wednesday. But again a stitch in the belly decided I would not run that day. Thursday (yesterday) I was busy putting some stuff of Ikea together with manually screwing a bucketload of screws into wood, which physically exhausted me, so no run then either. But today was the day!
Running gear on and out I went, fearful of THE STITCH. Luckily it did not appear and I could run. The first 5 to 10 minutes felt as if my body was sleeping. I literally dragged my feet along. But after about 10 minutes my feet remembered how to pick themselves up.
Normally I do 30 minutes on a weekday, but during the day I was thinking about 40 minutes. Nevertheless I did feel a tad tired and during the run I decided to go for the middle: 35 minutes.
Despite running like a sleepwalker and not being in the mood to run, I am happy I did run. I felt much better afterwards. And that is another 4.09 km in the feet.
Well done on another run on your way to Kilimanjaro. ☺️Better you than me with all the IKEA stuff I’m not good at DIY. Not been running this week just walking 4 km at 6.15 am before work . Don’t like running after work. Too tiring. Hip and groin still playing so sticking to walking just now and pleasantly enjoying it.
Not to brag, but I am actually not bad with Ikea stuff and the likes. Better than my parents for example. And yeah I don't like running after work either, my body is too tired then (from sitting at a desk the whole day). But I can't go before work (too early) nor during lunch (only got 30 mins). So if I don't run after work, I would run only 1 time a week. Take care of that hip and groin, those are weak spots of me too.
