When I came home from work the sky was fully clouded, no sun to be seen. It was 25 degrees in the shade, but I thought to try a run nevertheless.
I tried NRC earlier and did not like it, but I decided to try it again out of curiosity. Put on my sunscreen crème factor 100+, cap, shorts and thin shirt and out I went.
Put on NRC guided run A Hot Run and started. Slow and steady, no rushing the run. No music, just coach Bennett talking about running in hot weather. And much to my surprise I did not find the talking as annoying as I did last time. Last time I had a Headspace run and maybe that chatter just does not suit me.
The run went rather well, decided to keep to the 35 minutes of the guided run. My breathing was a bit heavier, there seemed to be a lack of oxygen in the air. Not much shade on my route, but it was ok at the slow speed I kept to.
I did slow down in the last 5 minutes, felt myself getting tired. But I did finish the 35 minutes with 3,88 km and it did not feel too bad despite the heat. Maybe I CAN run when it is warm? Only have to watch out for my sun allergy.
As for the tips given in the guided run, I kinda knew all already. Problem is, I really can't get up at 5 am to go run. I get up at 6 am to be ready for work. 5 am is just too early. And when the sun is down I don't dare go run on my own.
As for sunglasses, don't think I need them. My cap keeps my eyes well in shade, I don't need to squint. Plus I wear regular glasses and don't like sunglasses. Can't seem to see well enough with them.
Well done Evy, and getting out in the heat. Did u do your Jeffing to your NRC run. Something different to listen to . Tried a jog again but hip still the same. Sticking to the walking 4km every morning and 11km longer walk Sunday at least it’s exercise. Never used to like music running but different when walking . 👏🙂
I indeed Jeffed with NRC in my ears. As always did 4:30 running + 0:30 walking. I really like this ratio. Enough running to actually feel as if I am running, but just in time a small break to blow my nose or take a sip of water.
To bad about your hip. But if you can walk, that is very healthy too!
