Oh ‘eck, I’m slow!

Thought I’d stick with 3k again this morning in my return to full running form. The forecast threatened cold so I put a short sleeved top over a long sleeved one, my standard cold weather outfit. And was totally overdressed in what turned out to be a glorious sunny and quite warm morning! Phew🥵! Ah well, it was so nice I ended up doing 3.5k at a really slow average pace of 10:30 per km. So much for trying to get to 8:30 per km this year! Ah well, as long as I can do something that’s fine with me! Happy running folks!

No rush OGR, you’ll get there. 😀 3.5k running is better than 3.5k of walking and miles better than 0k of any speed. 😀

It was warm today wasn’t it? I did a short sleeved, zero jacket trail run and I was scorching. 🥵🏃‍♀️

Thanks cheeky! Yes it was lovely but looking out there now, it’s clouding over and the temperature is definitely dropping!

3.5km is great.. why any hurry on a glorious sunny morning? Good to be out in it - much better than the couch.. and you can hear the birds singing if you’re not in a hurry.. 😊

Thank you PeggySusi, you’re quite right - it’s good to be outside!

This weather at the moment is so difficult to gauge, but by the sounds of it being 🥵 didn't put you off. Any run at any speed is better than no run and 3.5k is a decent distance in my book 👍😊

Thanks dijep - I’ll just keep trotting along!

That was a nice easy paced run for you today OGR, 3.5K, well done, that is better than no run at all, sitting at home, nice to get out, enjoy the rest of your day.

Thanks Alan, a gentle potter in the garden this afternoon!

Same here. I dressed for what the thermometer said was 5°C but experienced a much warmer morning. I think it's because the sun was out and the air was so still.

Think there were a few of us - UpTheStanley said the same thing!

I’m trying to return to full running form, too with the added introduction of hills. I can’t even walk up hills 🥵

So 3.5K at your happy pace makes it so much more likely that you’ll do it again! That’s important, too. As long as you are getting out there and enjoying it. You’re clocking up the miles and your stamina will return - same as mine. Well done! 👏👏👏🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️👍

My hip feels a bit stiff this afternoon Jools, oops!

Soak in the bath! 🛀 Helps all aches and pains 😊.

Hope it’s just temporary, we don’t need any obstructions to our return to running form 🤞

It’s good to know you are out there albeit sweltering somewhat, I seem to have slowed down some too so it maybe the end of the winter thing

In my case WaS, I think it’s just an Old Girl Always Slow thing!

Good running OGR, who cares about speed when the weather is so glorious.

Well done on your 3.5k Oldgirlruns. Sorry I didn’t see you, but I ran the opposite way this morning and loved the quiet prom - everyone must have gone shopping!

Don’t worry about your speed - you are getting out there. That’s the main thing, and we don’t want you striding out.

Oldgirlruns profile image

Yes I thought it was quieter too - if people want to queue to get into a shop and leave the prom nice and quiet, I’m all for it!

You know what they say OGR - slow and steady wins the race!😜

I actually took my jumper off on the allotment today!🌞🥵

...any way...aren’t you meant to train slow to run faster? 🤷🏻‍♀️

It sounded perfectly fine to me 🏃🏻‍♀️🐌🐢🥰

Don't worry about the speed OGR. What matters is that you're back and running happily. Anyway it's only April. There's plenty of the year left to speed up if you so wish.
