Hiya,
Went for a no-strings/goals-attached run just now. Decided to put my run/walk interval timer on 0 so it would just continue without having a fixed number.
I started on my usual route, but after 7 minutes in, I turned right instead of left and decided to take a whole other route. One I have regularly walked, but not run with some nice scenery.
Had to run on the bicycle road right next to a busy (car) road where they drive 70 km/h to get back to the park and in the direction of home. That was less pleasant, but if I continue on the scenic path, I end up at rather deserted spots and too far from home for a weekday.
At 25 minutes in, I was near the spot where I usually end (so this route was slightly shorter) and I decided to call it a day. How nice to not focus on a certain time or distance.
Another thing I decided is that if I see something nice and I want to photograph it, I just do it. In the past I did not stop to take a pic because I was running and could not stop. Now, I will just stop, take the pic and continue on my way.
In those 25 minutes I reached 2,84 km. Not much, but what can you expect from 25 minutes? Either way, I did enjoy myself, just doing what I wanted. Just a quick reminder to myself: invest in some good pairs of shorts and a running cap. Because running in black, long running thights in 24°C in the shade is NOT a pleasant feeling ☀
Cheers, Evy
