Magic Plan - W8 R3 10km DONE!

Tonight was the night!! I still had a little hip twinge but I didn’t let it stop me. It was slow going for a whole around the 8-9km mark but I had some good podcasts going and just kept at it! Very happy with myself. I may never walk again however lol. Now I have to decide what to do now. I thought about doing the plan again but trying to hit the speed targets as well…. But that’ll be tough! For now I’ll just do 5kms every couple of nights. Thanks for all the support everyone!

Well done Prof! First 10k is a real "moment". It needs to be celebrated!🥂A slight hip twinge hit me when I got to 10k. It soon went away. When I started to run longer distances I flipped over to Marathon Running and Support. As distances increase, exercise band work; clams, crabwalks, squats etc come in to reinforce and stretch relevant muscles. Prevention better than cure and all that (although I haven't always got that balance right!). For now...celebrate. 👍

Maybe consolidate a bit, 2 shorter runs + 1 longer run per week and after a while build up to 10 miles? 😜

That’s amazing! Well done you. I did my first 10k very recently and like you feared I’d never walk again either 😆. I think I slothed on the sofa for the rest of the day. Well done again pr0fess0r! 👏🏼👍👏🏼🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️

Good luck! I don’t use any running podcasts, I listen to thing that interest me and keep me distracted, like a Spotify playlist or an interview. That makes the run go faster 👍
