Greeting vrb's. I don't seem to have posted for ages - my excuse? - the little darling in the picture. She's called Pitta and one day, in the distant future will hopefully be my running buddy.
But I have been managing to squeeze the odd run in. It's better now there are occasional bits if nice weather. My runs have been intermittent in frequency and quality and I've been sticking to about 5k.
Last week I had a great one, sneaked down the shooting track without getting caught, saw eight hares laughing at my speed but still finished in a time that was good for me.
This week I thought I might try a footpath which was still pretty hard to run on and my legs felt like they weren't listening to instruction! Saw a roe deer that stood and watched me amble past and then bounced off comfortably to show me how it should be done!
I'm going to go back to a bit more mixing up distances and speeds to see if I can get some consistency back- puppy allowing that is ๐๐ถ

Ah what a lovely reason for not being able to run, she looks very cute ๐I'm glad you've been managing to get out a bit , I think we'll all be glad of a bit more spring like weather.
I often see a guy running with a Dalmatian when I'm out they both look like they are having a lot of fun so good luck with her training.
Oh ๐ฅฐ๐ถ๐พ! Sheโs beautiful and the perfect excuse for not being able to get out so much! When we first got our cockapoo Isla, she was the biggest time-waster! Still is if the truth be told! Enjoy ๐ค
I get guilt tripped by Isla if I put my running trainers on before she gets her morning walk. Itโs all in those puppy-dog eyes - they get you every time.
If she's anything like my dog it could be very stop start depending on the smells! I wouldn't even think of taking mine-mainly because she is a 12 yearold terrier( of unknown parentage) who alternates between going like a rocket if there have been pheasants on the track and a snail when she is bored and thinks she'd rather be at home.
So lovely to come home to though and she helps me post run by collapsing on her back between my legs for tummy tickles as I'm stretching!
Enjoy Pitta whichever type of training buddy she decides to be.
Thanks. I shall consider it a bonus if the plan works but she'll be a delight either way. They're always so pleased to see you when you return - even if you've only been gone for a few minutes ๐
๐๐Gorgeous or what?! (from a cat lover!) And well done for maintaining any semblance of a running practice. Love the story of the roe deer. Itโs a sign. ๐Thatโs your project now: โthink like a roe deerโ. ๐
Hello Lifluf , Pitta is absolutely scrumptious! ๐ I wish you many happy years with her, whether or not she proves to be a running buddy ๐ถ๐พ๐โโ๏ธ
Thank you cmoi. I've wanted a dog for so long and my working hours were so bad it wasn't really possible but now I'm a retired lady of leisure my time has come!
