Last year was my toughest and being pushed out of hospital in a wheelchair was heartbreaking.....the consultant did say I'd run again but it would take a long time. He was right! So Mudita11 came to visit and we'd agreed to be tailwalkers at Lowestoft parkrun.
I hadn't set an alarm for 6am, but having been woken really early by my demon cat I reset it for 6.30am and I was just dozing off when it went off
I used the satnav to get to Claremont pier and she said turn left so we did and suddenly we were driving along the prom....whoops, we did get some funny looks, turned round and found the entrance to the car park.
A very welcoming RD and team of volunteers and after the team talk, walk to the start, another talk and off we went!
We weren't quite sure who was at the back, in front of us, we asked one couple but no they were just walking their dog .
We never caught the back of the pack.....but we kept going and came in at just under the hour.
We had a great time, it's a lovely course, the slopes are longer than my local one and I need to practice because I was really puffing at the top, we did a few slow trots but never caught the walkers up, it's a bunch of fast people there .
So I have a benchmark time to beat 😁.
I decided I look like an elephant....time to stop eating everything just because I can 🤣
Run happy all or rest well xx
