First 60 minute Magic Plan run

Full of the joys of (almost) spring and a beautiful if chilly morning I set off to do the Magic Plan's Week 1 30 minute run this morning. Coach Bennett came too, 'Today's 30 Minute Run', why not?

As I set off I became very aware of all the overeating recently. Wobbles where there haven't been wobbles for a very long time. Is it possible to buy a bra for one's bum? Unfortunately I'm not asking for a friend.

The fields are probably really muddy so the outward journey was along the waterfront. On the way back I cut across the park. Realising that going home this way would take a lot less than 30 minutes I zigzagged along. When you sail this manoeuvre is called tacking. The map of my run shows very neat wiggles.

Over the next month or so I'm hoping the extra weight will go and my fitness will increase again. Just got to keep at it!

Congratulations, Yesletsgo , on your first Magic Plan run! And wiggles are part of my running routes, too... Especially on my longer runs, I've discovered some nice paths this way 😎

Much more fun than running in a boring straight line!! :)

I think a fair few of us have a few more wobbly bits than we’d like! It’ll feel extra good to get back to feeling fit again (that’s what I’m hanging on to!!).

Good luck with the plan-it sounds like you had a great run today!

I think a few of us have a few more wobbly bits than usual at this time of year!!! Don't fret though, as long as we move about and eat a bit less they'll evaporate :)

nice cold run for you there MU. I’m just about back up to 30 minutes with the occasional interruption of a road crossing 🤣. I’ve been running in the village so zigzagging sounds like a good idea I must try it

You can definitely fit a longer run into a smaller space when you don't do straight lines :)

You’ve inspired me! I did 5K yesterday and will make this my first magic plan run of 2025. Now have an aim which will keep me getting out there!

Well done. I'm following the Magic Plan too, thanks to MissUnderstanding ! I thought I'd run for an hour this morning without worrying about pace and was pretty impressed with myself, only for Strava to tell me it was only 53 minutes! Still, we've started as we mean to go on, so top marks to us!😀 PS - Parkrun tomorrow (snow permitting) so I hope that counts too.

That sounds like such a brilliant run! Forget about strava-what’s 7 minutes between friends?! It’s still a super impressive time to run for. Those chilled pace doesn’t matter are so nice. Congratulations!! ⭐️

It was about as perfect as they get TBH - a gorgeous sunny day, a lovely route and no internal pressure from me to keep trying hard. I'm going to keep doing my long runs with that vibe as I follow the plan I think. Thanks again - I hope that your 2025 running has started well too!

Well done on your long run. I'm really looking forward to gradually increasing the time I run for once I get home in a few days.

Thanks. I just wanted to see if I could do more than my usual 5km and the weather was perfect for it (unlike today!!). I'm sure we'll both get our distances up over the next few weeks - consistency's the key🙂👍.
