I signed up for the ZOE app after getting my first COVID jab (11 days ago now). When I used it to report my side-effects (shivering, achey limbs etc) it came back and encouraged / authorised me to sign up for a PCR test, to help with research ....
Did the test at a walk-through site on Sunday (an interesting experience). After a grotty night I had convinced myself by Monday morning that my remaining side-effects were the real thing, the test would come back positive and I would have to hibernate for 10 days ....
And then I, and Dexy5 who was also authorised to take the test as a member o my household, got our negative results sometime before 8 am - quite incredible efficiency as we hadn't taken the test until about 2 pm on Sunday. Happy days .....
So time to stop feeling sorry for myself and get out for a run. Since the jab I'd only been out once, 5k in 35 mins with Dexy, and wasn't feeling close to fit, so I thought I'd go for marginal gains and see if I could maintain 6'30" pace for a 32'30" time. But without my pacer to keep me in check, my legs refused to behave and delivered 29'49" (they're sorry today ). So I guess the next steps are to work my way gently back towards my 25 minute 5k bogey time, then 10k in 55. Guess I'd better sign up for next month's Quest to set myself some public targets .....

Glad to know that your tests were negative and you had a nice run with Dexy5.
I also got my first Covid 19 vaccination on Saturday 13th February, the after effects were only a slight shivering on Saturday evening and for a short while my left arm felt a little sore.
I have reported most days on that ZOE app for around 6 months now, it asks me if I have been vaccinated and how I am feeling, up to the 12th February I reported that I had not been vaccinated, since my vaccination it asks me if I feel OK after the jab and if I had any serious after affects, I reported none, it now asks me if I have had my second jab, of course I answer no.
A great relief that you don't have it UTS - I'm sure Dexy5 was pleased too! The range of side-effects for different individuals is quite striking - but it sounds as though your legs are determined to shake them off.😜
Are you sure it’s vaccine related, as it seems like an awful long time? Most people only have side effects for a day or two. Not saying it isn’t but would be unusual. Don’t know if you’ve seen that Zoe has adjusted its modelling so that anybody reporting known vaccine related after effects for up to 3 days will no longer be counted among the cases and will not be asked to take a test. Today’s new cases have consequently dropped from over 14k to 9.6k!
Who knows? It was a pretty vicious set of flu-like symptoms and my leg muscles were completely shot for 3 days, so I’d expect it to take a while to get them back up to scratch. The sweats and shivers hung around until yesterday, so 9 days or so altogether. Maybe it was regular flu, but where might I have caught that? Seems to much of a coincidence not to be jab-related.
So pleased you were both negative, some have quite harsh side affects although yours sound worse than most Your speed is amazing and you will soon be back to your best
Very pleased for you, so glad your tests came back negative! Some people do experience side effects but the main thing is that you're feeling better and are protected against covid 👏👏👏Great pace there, and that's while feeling under the weather 😲🙌🙌
