I have not been on here for a while after losing my dog, then Christmas, work and family life, however I have still been running three times a week, I can now do 5k in 30-32 mins. But this is all I do run 5k three times a week. Sometimes slightly longer sometimes a shorter run. What do I do now, shall I do the Magic Plan again or just keep increasing my runs. Running has helped me so much. I think I just got out of the habit of posting. Its good to be back.
Hello again: I have not been on here for a... - Bridge to 10K
Hello again
Yeayyyy ! Welcome back!
I say go for Magic Plan.... so much fun and also, join the Bridge Quest... New one starts March 1st... always a great way to keep motivated and to see other folk Great to have you with us again
Welcome back ! Like you I haven’t posted much recently but still out there running. As Oldfloss says, go for the Magic Plan (again) if you want a structure to follow, if not just create your own. I tend to do two shorter 4-5k runs during the week, then a longer 7-8k run on a weekend. Maybe just do something like that for a while?
Welcome back. It sounds like your ready for the distance version of the magic plan and that will get you to 10k! I also first worked up to running to 60 minutes (although as an ultra slow runner that was actually the easier part) and now am in the midst of the distance version of the magic plan. My longest run is 8k so getting there.
See you on the magic plan!
So sorry about your dog Nicky. 💔
Great to hear you’re still running, and that’s an excellent 5k time! 👏👏👏 No harm in doing the Magic Plan again. Lots of us on here have done it multiple times. 🏃♂️🏃♀️🏃♂️🏃♀️
Enjoy! 😀
Sorry to hear about your dog, such a tough thing to go through, I really feel for you 💕It's great that you've managed to keep running through it all! I personally did better with the magic plan when I was working on increasing distance than trying on my own because it provides the structure but it's also flexible... If you enjoyed it the first time round, maybe give it another go.
Welcome back!
Welcome back. We have a lot in common. We lost our 16 year old dog last summer and I have a busy home and work life. But I'm working from home and in lockdown. I run 5K 2-3 times per week. I have not ran 10K since last October. But there is absolutely nothing wrong with running 5K x 3 times per week. This is the Bridge to 10K forum, but you don't have to be running 10K to hang out here. Do what you want to do and what suits you. When I add onto my runs I add 500 meters onto a long run each week, running 5K on the other 2 days. It is a nice easy way to add distance without putting yourself under pressure.Good luck,
Damien
Thank you, that sounds a good idea, I have enjoyed the 5k runs and seeing my time getting faster, also I have noticed my posture has improved. Its been such a hard time, but I found just going out on my own running gave me time to myself (even to have a cry). I am glad to be back. My legs start to feel twitchy if I have not been out for a run. Are you still doing the "not park run" on a Saturday?
Hi welcome back VRB I missed you! So pleased that you kept going through the tough times and are ready to move on.
Looking forward to hearing the next chapter in your running ...
Great that you've come back to the forum - I find it really motivating and supportive - but it sounds like motivation isn't a problem for you. So sorry to hear about your dog - its like losing a member of the family, isn't it? Devastating. I agree with the others - time you joined the Magic Plan to extend your runs. It sounds like you are fast enough to do the time version maybe? Good luck and welcome back.
