Another slow 5k in gorgeous morning weather today.
I have now gotten into the habit of putting in a 90min slot in my weekday work calendar. It means I work a bit longer in the evening, but I get to run in gorgeous weather like today: ice-cold, blue skies and not so many other pedestrians. All good in my book.
Not much bounce today, but still such an enjoyable run. I wonder if bounce and temperature is related?
RunLEJOG: I’ve reached Bristol
Zombies: Runner 5 has now done the 5k training.
Hadrian’s Wall: I got a postcard but it was strangely about Devonshire tea. I wonder if someone’s got their wires crossed?
Happy running everyone!

Well done CBDB that looks a lovely place to run, and gorgeous weather too! It was cloudy and overcast on the south coast, but at least it wasn’t raining like it was on Saturday!I’m lucky enough to be able to run during the working day unless I’ve got meetings, so I manage to fit a bit of running in most days. I’m part time too now, so I don’t work Wednesday or at the weekend, so that’s when I do my longer runs.
Nice! Yes, I feel also quite fortunate as enough of my work is flexible so I can shift things around in my calendar. Not always possible but it often is. It does mean I have been able to avoid running in the dark along lit roads. So very fortunate.
Wow nice weather, it’s still grey here, maybe I’ll move your way, lovely photo, 5k training runner 5? I will look at that, I found the lost child this morning
Nice 👍🏽, runner 5. 👏👏 yeah, I am referring to the missions right at the bottom of the missions. It has two 5k, 10k, and 20k runs. And you can also set up or use preset interval training. All staying true to the zombie world 🤣🤣🧟♀️
Re. bounce, I don’t know about temperature 🤔 I remember the heat of last summer and felt like a dead weight sometimes and when it’s been minus something during winter I’ve felt quite bouncy because I’ve wanted to keep moving! It’s definitely not helped me in getting out the door though..!
I know rubbish weather/grey skies saps my bounce for sure though. Sunshine makes me perkier without fail 💛
Wait, I’m confused. You reached Bristol on LEJOG but you got a Hadrian’s Wall postcard?
I just signed up to it last night and I’m very excited about it! 😝 I assumed the mileage would be straight up the country.. I was a bit pop-eyed on seeing I have to run to Dorset before heading north..! 🤣
🤣🤣 you’re doing Conqueror’s Lands End to John O’Groats? (Or End-to-End’s?)
Yes, I reached Bristol on End-to-End’s LEJOG (a competitor service to Conqueror) but when reaching Chollerford in Northumbria on Conqueror’s Hadrian’s Walk I got a postcard for Devonshire tea ☕️! 🤣🤣 Still don’t know who is more confused. Even more confusingly, it mentions a Chester Tearoom!
🤣🤣
I’m running both End-to-End and Conqueror virtual races, and am having quite a lot of fun! But am obviously also quite confused about this last postcard!
Oh I hadn’t heard of ETE so just went with Conquerers. You are a busy bee, you clearly love a challenge! 👌🏼 *And* you’re fighting zombies along the way..!
Hmm, that’s some strange geographic references there.. don’t get lost! 😄
Yes, started LEJOG, but am so slow that I will not be able to finish in the time given ... so no medal there. So I started Hadrian’s Wall which is shorter, and that will likely be my first ever running medal! Happy running on your LEJOG! I do think the Conqueror app is great, if you use it.
Thank you, I’m trying to get my head around the app right now.. it seems very slow (but I suppose it’s because it’s updating the whole country’s exercise in real time?) Otherwise, loving it!
I thought you could make the journey time as long as you like?! 😨 I’ve set mine for 48 weeks as ideally I’d like to have made it by the end of the year. (Haven’t bothered checking yet what that means I’d have to run week on week..) 🙈
