Another lunchtime 5k run

Now, it was a dreary, rainy, drizzly, muddy, squelch-fest kind of miserable run, but before noon, I could feel myself getting all ready for getting out there. I even got all geared up before my last online meeting ahead of lunchtime (planning to keep video off 🤣) , just so I could head out the moment when that meeting came to an end.

I love my work, but boy is that urge to head out for a slow delicious (and at the same time squelchy, muddy, drizzly, and rainy) run strong.

And after the halfway point it gets even better. Still squelchy but now my legs are warm, my gloves are back in my pocket, my zombies murr in my ears and then my music list comes on, giving me that desirable bounce!

Ohh, that bounce, where my steps suddenly become jaunty, my posture more upright, my breath more rhythmic and my hands and arms do that conductor thing, their own kind of yoga ,- just because. That’s my bounce that I love.

And the amount of bounce changes, so I wonder, where is my bounce meter? Oh Runkeepers and Stravas, Apple Health and MapMyRuns, can’t you add a bounce metric to your running stats?

Have some happy bouncing runs even if in squelchy conditions!

You only regret the runs you don’t do 😍💪🏽

Yeah, I have the running bug bad! 🤣🤣

Awww CBDB how joyful, you’ve been bitten for sure, these are the happy runs to treasure, and keep in the ‘gloomy, can’t run day’ tin. Love the new ‘conductor arms’ yoga move 🤣🤗

No hope for me, I’ll be forever deliciously slow-running! 🙏🤣🧘🏽🎶

What a lovely run! Love the bounce and the yoga arms - you have painted a very amusing picture of yourself in my head now! Totally agree with Grannyhugs’ comment about renaming you Tigger - so much boundless energy 😄🧘🏼‍♀️🏃🏼‍♀️👏🏼 It’s fantastic!

Oh, love this- boing, boing!! 😄I’m borrowing a bit of that bounce today - we have had wetty, splatty snow all night and now we have universal grey sky & cold, grey rain washing the snow into a sodden squelch - our lawn (a misnomer - more of a biodiversity really!) is disappearing under water. I have been eyeing the weather with disfavour- you have reminded me that I can still have a chirpy run amid the cold, grey & wet, thanks. Time to get the kit on.., 😄

An ex work colleague has been posting some walks on Strava...I didn’t realise she lived so close to me (albeit on a lower and more level part!)...so has opened my eyes to new possibilities.

haha, love your post and know that ' just want to get this meeting finished and get out for a run' feeling! It made me laugh even more, as my other half takes the mickey out of me, as I sometimes put my running gear underneath my work clothes which of course no one can really see on virtual meetings, so that i can strip off really quickly and get out as soon as the meeting finishes!

Today i just did one of the newish runs on NRC, just a little 3.5km, but i enjoyed every wet and soaking minute of it, and definitely felt better to tackle the afternoon of more meetings!!

🏃‍♀️😅
