I went for a run yesterday and felt like I was trotting along quite quickly. My watch told me otherwise, in fact I was going much slower than usual. I was a bit confused. When I got home and synced up there was no map with my run. I did start before GPS was found, because it's been taking ages recently, but it normally picks it up at some point. Any thoughts?

Anyone having issues picking up GPS with their Garmin?
Sorry you had problems, mine was fine on a walk today. I have started before syncing and as you say it usually catches up. Sometimes there is a blip, according to garmin I ran a super fast km last week but as it’s a usual segment I knew I’d only covered 900m, earlier this week it took a couple of hrs to sync but then the data came up fine. How is the data on the actual watch? Is it correct or just the synced data and map?
I have had the same happening a couple of runs ago. I started without the GPS locking and I ran 500 or 600 meters less according to my watch then I actually did (always running the same route paid off) plus my map showed me in a totally different part of town. It was as if a black hole had swallowed me.
I now turn my watch off and on before I leave the house and when I have walked I put on the running app on the watch and wait until the GPS locks. Only when it locked, then I start running, because otherwise I have problems.
It does sometimes take a long while before the GPS locks. Then I start fiddling with Galileo vs the other one vs nothing, turning off on again, sticking my arm in the air (nice sight). I do wonder if it all helps or just makes it take longer...
