Help I’m plagued but massive blisters. Is there anything that can help?

Sorry to hear this, you need to cure the current blisters and find the cause of them. Compeed blister plasters are great at providing padding and protection for the blistered area while drawing away the liquid from within. What is causing the blister? Properly fitting shoes and running socks should ensure there is no rubbing of any area of your foot. If either dont fit properly you will continue to get blisters. I'm running and walking over 100km of each a month with no blisters so it is possible. Good luck. 🤗

Good quality running socks help greatly. So too does making sure to have your running shoes laced up tightly, but not too tightly. I bought a few pairs of Hilly Socks. They wear really well, and wash really well and prevent blisters. I have 3 pairs which are almost 4 years old and I am still using them. Most running shops sell them and you can also pick them up online via Amazon etc.

Hope that helps,

One trick used by hikers is to wear two pairs of socks: a thin pair on the inside and a thicker pair on the outside. That eliminates the rubbing that can cause the blisters.

I had to resort to that with my wellies this week, worked a treat though 😊

Thank you so much for your replies. I think the problem is the trainers. The blisters are in both inside foot arches on the side. I’ll try getting some socks until I can get some proper running shoes.

Proper running shoes are worth the investment. Go to an independent running shop when the shops are open again and get a gait analysis done. They will offer you a range of shoes and range of budget to best suit you. And running socks are great too.

I’ve been wanting to get a gait test done for some time but Covid has just got in the way 😒 and even when they were open the appointments were so far in advance. I’ve just ordered some running socks and a insole to see if these will work in the mean time.

I was walking and running throughout January. One day I went out for a fast walk of 5K. I try to walk 5K in around 44 minutes. Anyway I only use my running shoes for running. But was using a retired pair of running shoes for walking, and one day I went out wearing regular socks, and my runners were not laced up as tightly as should have been. As a result my left foot was sliding forwards and backwards throughout the walk which resulted in a massive blister on the base of my left foot which put me out of action for a few days. And that was with older shoes which had never caused me any issues running. If I had been wearing my Hilly Marathon socks I am sure that there would have been no blister. But also if my laces were tighter I would not have had the movement.
