This is interesting- all about music while you exercise - and it ends with a note of caution about over-dependency. However, I need all the help I can get and addiction to music is the least of my worries 🤣

Effect of music on the brain while exercising
It's an interesting debate. I always like to have music whilst I'm running. The only time I leave the headphones at home is parkrun, but my parkrun times are always much better than my lonely plods around the lanes. Go figure. 🤔
Ha ha, addiction to music, love it!
Interesting...think I’ll accept the risks and keep one ear phone in at all times! 😊🏃♀️❤️
There are arguments for and against music while you run. A lot of races don't allow it ..
I tend to have music with the odd nakid run .. all comes down to personal choice and what works for you ..
I think it's not often that they don't allow music, more they don't allow aural obstruction because the roads aren't fully closed and it's dangerous—bone conduction seems to be generally accepted 🙂
Edit-This is a bit of a sales pitch but is also an official line from English Athletics that they only accept bone conduction headphones in road races not wholly closed to traffic.
I love running to music on the whole, I like to pick my soundtrack with my mood and the weather and my intentions in mind. I really enjoy making a specific playlist for races/events. I don't always run with music though. Sometimes I just run au natural (not in the pip, no, just with no metrics or stats or music) if I'm feeling introspective and need a good think.
Addiction to music compliments an addiction to running!
Fascinating thanks for sharing. I've long been aware of how music affects my exercise and try to find the tunes that work.
I have a constantly evolving running playlist that's now about four hours long as I get easily bored. That way I play it on shuffle and I've noticed some of the ones that work match my pace and also have positive phrases that give me that little push to keep on.
Another music addict here - I love losing myself in a good song or soundtrack. However, I run without occasionlly just to prove to myself I can (and obviously in many races now headhones are not allowed). I used to feel quite anxious about NOT having music but it's not something that bothers me how, fortunately.🙂
I NEVER have music while running. Maybe I should as I have been fatigued lately.
I run with either music or a podcast but at Parkrun I prefer to have a gasp/natter to other similar runners to me. My Parkrun times have always been the fastest, weird 🙄
