Woo hoo 60 today and a PB for my 10km as my best present!!

60th birthday today, which I must admit I wasn't looking to at all, I must prefer being in the 55-59 age category in Park Runs etc, but...... I still got my priorities in order, determined to run a 10km despite the bitter cold and ice everywhere. I waited until 10.30 and then set off, thought I would just have a steady run, just me and Coach Bennett. My motivation all the way round was my lunch of smoked salmon and a bottle of bubbly and an Indian takeaway for the evening, although I'm not sure a bottle of bubbly really counts as after run refreshments!! πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ˜‚πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸ₯³.

Joking aside, despite it being a steady and 'no pressure' run, I did my 10km in 1hr 3 mins, a definite PB for me, my previous was 1hr 7 was I was super thrilled!

The funny bit is when my friends asked me what I was doing today and obviously because of lockdown there's not a lot to do, when I said ' I'm doing a 6 mile run' they just rolled their eyes!!πŸ˜‚

Hope you've all had a good day!! πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ˜†

Happy birthday! A super time indeed for your 10K. Of course, you'll get a better age grading at parkrun when you move up a notch, I've yet to see what mine is as we were already in lockdown for my 60th. Enjoy your treats xx

Arrh, didn't look at it like that, that's a bonus then, there has to be something turning 60! πŸ˜πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

Big celebrations! Huge congratulations on your birthday (I know how you feel, 6 feels like such a big number compared to 5 doesn’t it?!). And a 10k PB too - way to go!πŸŽ‚πŸ‘πŸΎπŸŽ‰

Me too but it’ll only be a couple more years before 6 becomes 7 - now that really is scary!
