Another celebration of New Year’s Day and while we couldn’t parkrun, we could (not)parkrun. So we did. As did a fair number of other people although at a distance and following the (not)parkrun guidelines. It was a murky misty morning; the Isle of Wight was nowhere to be seen and we figured they’d tried to tow it as far from Portsmouth as possible in an effort to get back into Tier 1! I was of course overtaken by the Southsea Bubble of @Dexy5 and @UpTheStanley but it was a lovely run with greetings exchanged with a number of other runners and walkers, including Coddfish and MrC. Naturally there was an after run takeaway coffee watching the Island hove back into sight to finish proceedings. My first New Year’s Day run in a time of 46:34 - my third fastest (not)parkrun time so as a snail I’m happy with that. And my fastest this year so I’m very happy with that! Happy 2021 running folks!
Southsea bids you a Happy New Year! - Bridge to 10K
Southsea bids you a Happy New Year!
Thanks for posting the first (not) parkrun of 2021 Oldgirlruns. There was a great atmosphere on the prom this morning whether from runners, swimmers, or families out to get fresh air. It was lovely without the wind but the -1c temperature did take my breath away during the toxic 10.
33:30 for me. Not a PB but I don’t deserve one after drinking last night and bed at 01.00. 🤪🍷🥂🍾
And what a perfect way to start a new year. Happy New Year to you! 🥳
It was a lovely benign kind of morning, if rather cold. I don’t think I have ever had alcohol before midday before (possibly not even as part of the night before, as I usually give up relatively early), but the hot toddy Mr C purchased from the Briny was unexpectedly welcome, even at 10am.
24’46” for me, off the same training regime as Dexy. Very happy with that 😊
Brilliant run, something special about having your fastest run of the year on the 1st😄 happy 2021 running 🤗
Your post made me laugh 😂😂 Some front the Isle of Wight’s got 🙄😂Sounds a good start for 2021 , I love that you have your ‘apre run’ coffee , that sounds just lovely .
You have also reminded me that I signed up to Park Run ages ago and have posted nothing . Must get back to that 👌
Happy running for 2021 🥳🏃🏻♀️🥳
We love the Island! It’s a real shame they’ve had to join us in T4!
Congratulations on your time, great start to the year. Sadly black ice everywhere this morning in Yorkshire just walking was risky!
A very happy New year to you OGR, perhaps The Isle of Wight did disappear at 11pm on New Year's Eve, its probably a new Department in France.
That was a nice run for you today to start the New Year, at least you have avoided the snow and ice many other areas in the UK have been having recently.
Congratulations on your PB for this year OGR!😜 Not so foggy in the northern reaches of Portsmouth, but you could tell it was cold because I resorted to wearing leggings - a very rare occurrence. I fancied doing 10k, but thought better of it and enjoyed a relaxed 7k.
Happy New Year to you and the rest of the Southsea crew!👍
Happy New Year OGR. Sounds like a nice way to start what will hopefully be a much better 2021. (Not) parkrun for me tomorrow! Praying it isn’t as slippery as today 🙏
