I was browsing through the parkrun Facebook site yesterday and somebody mentioned Doddington Hall parkrun. That’s strange I thought - it’s only just off the Lincoln bypass and I hadn’t heard of it before! Looked it up and it started on 25th January so today was run 4. I couldn’t have done it earlier as it turns out because I haven’t been at home the last 3 Saturdays, but, despite the dire forecast, I decided to give it a go, along with 255 others, which was a fantastic turnout for a new event. Doddington Hall is a Tudor mansion, but the run is out and back along the Georgie Twigg Trail (local international hockey player) and a disused railway. It started raining as we set off and the wind started up at 4km which seriously reduced my speed, but I finished in 29:27, my 2nd fastest parkrun and 3rd fastest 5k! After run refreshments are at the cafe inside the Giant cycle shop on the Hall estate, but that will have to wait. A shower and dry clothes took precedence. Stay safe VRBs!

A new Lincolnshire parkrun
What’s a beautiful place to run Sandie! It looks like it might have a few ghosts wandering about there 👻
Well done on your time and for getting out there at all. Our weather is dire atm ☹️
It is a lovely place - and still family owned! They have really developed the outbuildings, so as well as Giant Cycles, there’s a farm shop, Xmas bauble barn, fab Xmas trees, craft shops and they often have a sculpture exhibition in the gardens. Plus loads of free parking!
That sounds like a fantastic place for a PR Sandie! Well done on your time! Ours did actually go ahead today despite the weather but only Coddfish managed to get up and run it. But Dexy5, UTS and I did go and cheer her on - and of course there was breakfast afterwards!! The wind is really strong now - I may have to go back down to the seafront later to watch the waves!
Looks like a beautiful parkrun location! Great run too 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
That sounds a good find Sandie. I think launches of new parkruns are kept fairly low key now so that the new volunteer team is not completely overwhelmed by tourists wanting to do no 1. The rain is just starting here now so have retreated inside. Have a good weekend !
Sounds lovely Sandie. Always good to find a new parkrun.
Like the sound of that one Sandie, in better weather though. Can’t beat a Tudor mansion.
This is not far from where my parents are based so may have to do some tourism next time I’m there for a weekend! Great time and glad you enjoyed your run 😄
Sounds and looks fantastic... go you! I got soaked too!
Ooo exciting Sandie! What a bonus find. 😀😀😀
Fantastic Sandie, great running especially with that weather. A sub 30 min parkrun today is great going. I was running into a strong 50-60 mph headwind at times, it was very tough. I was happy with a 30:35 min finish time. You did great, well done.

Well done on getting out there and running so quickly Sandie. I am in a dip! No run in the last week, chesty cough, storms blowing in.......roll on Monday😊
Oh wow! That’s one to note. There’s Normanby Hall too not far away. Rasen and Cleethorpes So many Parkruns ..... 😁
I’ve Been to Doddington twice but not once managed to get in 🤨. I was only wanting to visit the garden but no one told me I could do so without paying to see the hall I learned that subsequently 🙄
It’s a must-do now! 🙂. It’s en route to my niece’s 🤔🤗
Some good running in that part of the world I am doing the Louth Run for Life I think 🤔. Also the seafront run at Cleethorpes which is pretty darned good. Free 99 after and a medal It’s in Sept. note to self. Enter the thing! Last time I checked it hadn’t opened
I do my tiny marathon event on the east coast 😎.
A short distance tourism parkrun! Woohoo!
It looks lovely Sandie and well done on your time, thats fantastic. I’d love to run there and Cleethorpes one day 🤞Turns out that one of Steve’s ancestors came from there and was transported to Australia in 1800. A convict in the family, so proud 😂
