Well, it has taken a while, but I finally managed a 10k run today. It was super slow (1hr 38) but I’m so proud.
I really wanted to get to this milestone in this year as have gone from a complete non-runner to running non-stop to 10k in a little over 7 months.
I started very obese and am still in the obese category, but have lost 10kg so far so heading in the right direction. Hopefully further weight loss will help me to speed up a bit 🤣 a plus side is that my running is combined weight lifting too 👍🏻 And running is one of the very few active pastimes where I have never felt judged by my fellow participants (can’t say the same for when I’ve been in a gym)
I’m scheduled for surgery at the end of January, which will mean a few months off running, but I know that I will get back into it in time and will get back to the 10k I know I’m capable of in no time
Thanks for all the support of this group.
