I don’t know if this is just me but I haven’t been able to get a NRC guided run to play in almost a week now. Anyone else having trouble? I really missed a bit of guidance on my seven mile run this evening. Luckily I had a Coach B interview (this week’s Strength Running podcast which was a good listen) saved so I didn’t miss out entirely….
The photo is of a buzzard I spotted sitting on top of a telegraph pole. He wasn’t keen to be snapped!

Thanks Chris…that’s helpful to know! Will try the uninstall option. I’ve just been trying to remove some downloaded runs and it’s point blank refusing so I think it’s time to turn it off and back on again!
I did have trouble on Monday when I ended up running in silence. I think that I just played a previously downloaded run and wondered if for some reason I hadn’t saved the guided version. Hope you find a fix soon.
I had a problem where I couldn't get a previoudownloaded guided run to play one day last week (Weds I think) - it just kept going to a plain, silent run. In and out I went until eventually it came up. Haven't had a problem since. Unfortunately NRC is very creative when it comes to glitches . I hope you get it fixed very soon.
Even though I'm abroad at the moment I haven't had any trouble with the NRC app. I do sometimes get very long periods of silence though and wonder if the coach has gone to sleep! I usually find then that I've run longer/further than I was anticipating! There must be some black holes around 😆
I think the app is pretty glitchy. I've seen lots of complaints about it on reddit. I would uninstall and reinstall it. I am doing my 10k race next week and planning on doing that the night before to make any glitches less likely!
I love a Buzzard so majestic and a very distinctive call ! One of the beautiful things I miss about my daily drives around the country side doing my postie round! Which is why running is taking on a new importance to me since my accident it has put that on an indifferent hold! Glad you got such a good shot of the buzzard I am still trying to catch one with in a descent range for a photo! That telegraph pole is possibly one of its look out station's.
Thank you! I’ve got a lovely SLR camera but when I go out for a walk, I never see as good wildlife as when I’m running!! Typical! My phone camera is pretty rudimental in comparison. Good luck with finding a cooperative buzzard!
I noticed this yesterday I'd set it for a 5k race and as I'd set off coach Bennett wasn't talking but I just carried on and finished the race I will check it out again soon 👍
I always assume it’s me and technology but my last few downloaded NRC guided runs have failed. Maybe I’ll try uninstalling and reinstalling. I usually struggle with linking my Spotify to play the recommended music too. As a result I’ve done three freestyle runs in the last week. I guess it’s been a good thing for me to take responsibility for my run but I do feel a bit adrift. And I miss the security of having Coach Bennett and friends in my ear. Xx
The app itself is quite unstable. I have to keep uninstalling and and reinstalling it. That said I successfully ran '60s' intervals this week with no problems from the audio.
Thank you all! Sorry I haven’t got round to replying. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled…we’ll see what happens later. Hopefully there’ll be a run report coming soon!
Mine has been fine recently, although I have had problems in the past. The rain usually messes up the podcasts, and taking a photo or phone call has the same effect. Hope you get it sorted, we really rely on CB don't we?
mine has been glitchy lately. CB stops talking at random points and won’t start again until I pause and restart the run. Then he says the missing bits all strung together. The app still records the run accurately though 🤷🏻♀️. It does the same thing on a non-guided run. The voice stops telling you your KMs and time at random points in the run.
An update: I wanted to run about three miles today so chose the 10 minute run and Run for more: Purpose from week 1 of my current plan (skipped them and thought was a nice opportunity for ticks). The 10 minute run worked perfectly. Run for more purpose got confused when I stopped to let a tractor pass and auto paused. The distance recording seemed to come back fine but the audio recording only started playing when I clicked on the app to see if it had stopped. Then I got a whole load of comments, one after ten other until it caught up with real time two minutes before the run ended. I guess that’s some sort of progress?!!
