5 weeks into recovery and all is well!

A while since I posted on here but I’m now 5 weeks into recovery and yesterday managed just over 7k in an hour included 93m elevation gain, still doing intervals of run/walk but the runs getting longer and walks shorter. Hip is good, slight ache after longer sessions but I’m reassured by physio that’s OK, no pain when running. Keeping up with Pilates, loving the feeling of achievement as my times and distance increase. Read the 80:20 book so not worrying about pace just yet.

That’s really great, looks like you’re not alone in enjoying being back out on your runs. Quite some climb you have there so what a great 7k, lovely picture 🤗

Cheers Mrs Jorge, loving it at the moment, doing 1 hour long session and two 30-40mins with a lighter week every 4th week, being patient I’m half way through my 12 week recovery plan, physio said that as I was off for 12 weeks so early in my running I should plan to get back to full fitness in a similar time frame, I’ve been following your progress too so big congratulations to you!!!

Thanks, 😊...I’m a bit low in energy this week, had to push myself out the door today but still enjoyed the run, a pretty slow 5k with a 1k speedy bit in the middle, I probably do closer to a 90/10 as faster pace feels a bit too much like hard work 😆🤗

That's fantastic news! I think that coming back from injury can make us much more aware of our running form etc so we can come back stronger! Great progress and impressive that you hung in there and got through that difficult patch! 😊

Great news and it is good to read posts from you again. Looks like your recovery plan is working well for you. Lovely photo of two very happy faces 🐶 😊.
