πMy RunLEJOG SELF is almost at Exeter, so a few runs more to make it out of Devon and into Somerset!!!
π₯ΎA big progress was an exploratory long walk which I did with hubby and son on Sunday, trying to walk a circle route that would get me to a 10k circle run. It didnβt prove to be a route I like, as there was a long stretch of road without pavement.
π§ This would mean Iβd have to stop the music and be that attentive road user rather than the blissful music-listening deaf-to-the-outer-world runner.
π§ Itβs not going to happen, so back home I found myself a new handsome contender of a route via the magic of search engines, online maps and the Footpath app.
It involves a 1.5k stretch on broad pavements alongside a Main Street (this is the ugliest part of the route)π£; then a 2.5k stretch along another former rail-line π€ with a nice pub at the endπΊ; than another 3.7k alongside a heritage canal πΆ with another even more famous pub at the end π»; then a smattering of a few kilometres cross some well trodden tracks πΎπ£(passing another one of those famous Cheshire pubs πΊ); bringing me back to the not so nice road but with a broad pavement leading me the last 1.5k back home.π‘
ππ»ββοΈπ€€Honestly, Iβm drooling as I write this and canβt wait to try it. I am on my 2nd week of JuJuβs Magic Plan, and this route Iβll likely be running out and back, one day this direction and another day that. And when getting close to 5k one-way, Iβll make the jump and just carry on to finish the 11k loop. Iβve walked a part of it before, so Iβm thinking this might become my new favourite! Of course, only if I am courageous enough to face the main road....
...but even that road will not keep me from my future beloved route!

β€οΈ My husband just told me off for saying Iβll love this route before even trying it, so Iβll settle for fancy-ing this route. He better watch out for this new route in our lives!
π₯ΎππAnd back to our lovely Sunday family walk: we were almost back home when I realised that this walk with our teenage son is probably the first substantial walk I did with the family since at least 3 or 4 years, as before I had started running, my back would have killed me after 20min. Running really gave me back so much more than just running.
Thank you! ππβΊοΈ
