Last week I finally got back on it! I managed to run 4 times again (a 45 minute, a 35 minute, and a 5k) and then yesterday I attempted my first long run since hitting the wall of tiredness three weeks ago.
Somehow longer distances had become so scary to me (?) despite me knowing I can literally run 10 miles. Anyhow, I set off, aiming for 10k, as if it were my first time again. It was tough! Mentally more than physically, and I felt myself getting bored, and generally overthinking the run. Also it was so cold!! 5 degrees. In this temperature I definitely find myself finding longer slower runs far less appealing than speedy faster runs - they don't warm you up as much!
Nonetheless, I managed 10.2k in 58 minutes which I'm very happy with.
This week, I'm aiming to run 4 times again, and maybe (if I'm feeling up to it) attempt another long run. Quarantine is looming on the horizon for me, which I have to enter in 11 days!! So my long run goal is to run 10 miles once before then - (with 2 weeks to recover!)
