A month ago I had to rest up due to hip tendonitis. I went back too soon (10 days just wasn't enough) and was back on the IC for another 2 weeks. Take heed fellow runners.... it takes time to come back from an injury. It was so frustrating.
So after another 15 days rest, this week I tentatively started two short, slow runs around my local park. It felt good, and today I decided to try a slow 5k. It was so busy along the towpath that I had to take to the streets.... and look what happened! An unintentional 6.7k!
I hope I haven't over-done it - tomorrow morning will tell. I have to keep reminding myself that patience is a virtue and slowly does it. But I really hope I'm back and can continue on W3 of JuJu's Magic Plan.
The moral of the story - avoid too much too soon and you'll get there

Well done you! I think you'll be ok but certainly build up steadily for a few weeks. Staying back is so important and you've made a terrific start here!
