Thatβs me, Iβm back on The Magic Plan π! Having mulled over a few different ideas I have gone back to the tried and tested method to get me back to 10k. I have completed it twice before, for both time and distance, This time I am revisiting the distance version again to get ready for a 10k in March that in a moment of weakness I allowed my sister to sign me up for. It is held in the village where we both grew up and where she and my parents still live. My sister is well ahead of me in the preparation stakes, but if I follow the plan Iβll finish it ahead of the 10k date in March and with a bit of time to spare, if needed.
For various reasons I had a few weeks without running in late November and December, but I have been running more regularly again since Christmas and Iβm back to 5ks now. I am mindful to step up gradually, so I am going to tweak the plan occasionally if I feel it necessary and convert some of the longer runs to Jeffing instead. The wriggle room that I have will allow me to then repeat Jeffing runs as full runs. I hope that makes sense? π Any advice or suggestions appreciated.
Today wasnβt a bad start, with Mr Garmin telling me I clocked my fastest 1k, which wasnβt deliberate but a pleasant surprise. I suspect it was largely due to the downhill stretch I was on at the time rather than anything I did π!
Note to self - rediscover my inner snail π as that is what is going to get me to the end of the 10k. Iβll leave the speed to my sister!
Happy running everyone πππββοΈ
