Making steady progress

1st recovery run of week 4. Really enjoyed today, probably because I slept really well last night for the first time in weeks. Felt I could have done more but trying to stick to the plan. My fitness is gradually coming back but it’s hard not to do more than my plan says but no pain in hip so very pleased. I’ve also knocked off half of the stone I gained on the IC 😀

Well done!I know what you mean about not going further than the plan suggests, a little frustrating when you are feeling good😒however, sensible when trying to avoid injury. Good luck for more pain free running💪👍🏃

This looks really positive. If you feel strong on the longer one then I'd stretch it out a bit. I think your body is telling you this. Just carefully but you're ready to extend and see!

Hi Phdgranny 😊. It’s so good to read your recovery runs are continuing well and you are pain free 👍🏼. Well done for reining yourself in from going beyond your plan. It’ll all pay off in the end. Happy running 😊🏃🏼‍♀️

Thanks DD, twelve weeks was a long time and this plan is geared to get me back to where I was in the same time, I’m doing hour long sessions once a week using intermittent run walks then 2 half hour sessions gradually building up the continuous running 🏃‍♀️ enjoying it which I think is the best therapy!

It sounds like you have a really sensible plan in place. No need to rush things. When I was out for 6 months due to injury I restarted from the beginning. I know how frustrating it is to be on the IC when all you want to do is run. It's also frustrating when you land back on the Injury Couch unexpectedly - I suffered shin splints during consolidation and took a break for 2 weeks, then used the interval runs to ease myself back in. Here's hoping everything continues smoothly for you 😊.
