Good post from you Tbae, I notice the word 'Graduate 10' and in some cases 'half-marathon' on the right-hand side of your name, absolutely excellent that you have ran those two runs. So it's back to the short runs once again and quite rightly so, in this warm weather no one wants to run much further, hopefully, if the weather forecast is correct, we are about to see the back of this heatwave. I don't have gym strength sessions although the push-ups, sit-ups, planks, kettle-bell exercises and yoga sessions I do at home could be sort of counted as "gym sessions". I have a garden but it's mostly just grass and I cut that once every two weeks. I noticed in one of your posts that you have a large hedge and hope to cut that between runs, no hurry for that.
I have a cat, by the way, Tbae, black clouds in the distance and I have looked at the rain radar chart that the rain could get to where I live by 12 mid-night. Tomorrow morning I'll do a few gentle 3-minute runs with some walking breaks and see how my hip is afterwards. It is slowly getting better, however, If I tried to get to the pace of my graduation run and especially the first post-graduation run I think my hip would get sore again, slow and steady as they say here on C25K, it's not really too bad except when I try to run fast.
Have you thought about doing a kettlebells class once a week to build up your core strength? Since Iβve been doing it Iβve had fewer back problems. There are quite a few distance runners in my class who do it to build up their core.
Normally I am OK.I have had a gym strength regime established for some years now , but between hedge cutting and running everyday, missing out on gym and I am hoping that I will strengthen further anyway.
I am just a novice runner at 75.ππ.Time permitting always up
for improvements.πππ
Thanks for the tip.
Go you.π₯πββοΈπ₯
Yes looked at six of the best.Going to pursue this.Always known free weights are superior than individual muscle exercise on resistance machines.π€πππ
Well done you, yes the strength work will help give your body longevity.... done forget in these early days to have at least 1 week in 3 doing half of what you normally do, or thereabouts. This will then give you the rest you need to keep going.... I hope the hedge miles are going well too?
