I'm into my third week of consolidation runs post C25K (I finished it a year ago but took time off due to injuries) and this morning, I suddenly had an irritating tickle at the back of my throat. Breathing hard made it worse and soon I was coughing and, forgive me if this is too much information, dry heaving a bit. Nose running, tears streaming down my face, I immediately stopped running and walked home. I was still coughing a fair amount.
I have now come home, drunk a lot of water (some of it warm to soothe my throat) and had two cough lozenges. I'm still clearing my throat a fair amount and coughing a little bit but it's getting better.
Any tips or thoughts? I drink a fair amount of water and did drink before going out running this morning. And I felt absolutely fine until about 10 minutes in when my throat started playing up.

On reflection, I think it may be the pollen in the air. Where I live, it's been reported as particularly bad in the last 24 hours. We have also had storms and a huge temperature drop so I think that's all part of it.
