Running In The Early Morning Mist

Not much to report. Two good runs this week, both on fresh and misty mornings, hat, gloves and two layers but I actually found it very refreshing, and both runs went really well.

Wednesday’s run was the NRC A Run With Paula, the Paula in question being Paula Radcliffe, which was very interesting, listening to her humble beginnings from cheering her father on in the London Marathon as a little girl to her own 2003 London Marathon World Record. I hadn’t intended to run 10k but felt good so basically just continued running.

Today’s run a steady NRC 6k with Coach Bennett for company and encouragement. Still loving the NRC app, enjoying my running and the high it gives me for the rest of the day, still learning and still improving.

Good luck to all of you who are out there clocking up the miles this weekend 👍🏃‍♂️

He reminds me of Woody Allen 😁. I ran a 5 miler with him this week. I love his call and return stuff 😃. Folks must think I’m nuts ! Shouting out random words ☺️

Well done with those runs. Must try to find Paula to run with for a change.

All good! I tried “Jeffing” this week (30 seconds walking and 75 seconds running) for four days in a row this week and found that my times were as fast as or FASTER than my regular 5km runs.

I am still so surprised and confused. But I’ll admit - it feels like cheating so I intend to do a normal run this weekend!

Happy running!

Never tried Jeffing, I’ve heard about it on here, must help you improve in some way or people wouldn’t do it, might have to look into it 🤔

Yes, wholeheartedly agree.

When I hear that song this year which says ".....so what have you done, another year over...." I can be really smug in knowing I learned how to run and met some wonderful people on these forums 😊😊😊

Well done👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I’m loving the NRC too. I had a music malfunction yesterday but still had Coach Bennet whispering sweet nothings in my ear 😊

He’s chirpy encouraging and enthusiastic that’s what I like, and gives some good advice.....never thought of him as whispering sweet nothings in my ear 😳

You are a proper runner.

This...

'enjoying my running and the high it gives me for the rest of the day, still learning and still improving.'

Keep doing as you are and keep posting too. This attitude and this consistency of runs might not be jazzy but it's the foundation of everything. Love it!!! Well done indeed 👏 👍 👌

Thanks GTFC I really appreciate that. Another great thing to come out of this is that people take me seriously as someone who runs, which means I’ve inspired others to do C25k, two of the women I work with have graduated, a third is on W9R2, another on W3,and finally one who’s starting this weekend, I’ve got my own running team ! 😁🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

I’ve used the NRC 10k run a few times and it’s great, you’ll complete that distance no problem with the help and support of Coach Bennett....Good Luck, look forward to hearing all about it in your next post 👍
