Officially a Runner

Having only run once in the last 10 days I decided I need to get back on to the running malarkey. Today was my attempt at 10k, I made this decision yesterday. This morning having had one glass ๐Ÿท more than I needed I lay in bed thinking why I shouldnโ€™t go.

Fifteen minutes later out the door. Have a tendency to try to run too fast (well for me) for the first kilometre and then struggle. Set off at a slow pace determined to do it. Different circular route was chosen, very scary as nowhere to bail out if I was too tired.

An hour and sixteen minutes later 10 k done โœ…. I think I am now officially a runner ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ. Still canโ€™t quite believe it.

And on another positive note reached my goal weight ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Now what to do next? Longer distance, speed up, make my goal weight a bit less โ€ฆโ€ฆ no idea just going to bask in this achievement for a day or two.

Happy running to you all

You are so right but I still have trouble believing it. Drove the 5k run three times as still think it couldnโ€™t be right. I need to start believing in myself. I am going to get my 10k badge as I didnโ€™t claim my 60 minute as felt such a fraud. Today I will accept that I am a runner ๐Ÿคฃ

Thank you - now questioning whether I need to do it at least three times to prove the first one wasnโ€™t a fluke ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ

Well done TotalNewbie1 great 10k time, not every run needs to be a challenge so just go out there enjoy it and do what you feel like doing. I use the Nike Run Club app, thereโ€™s lots to choose from on there and I enjoy the occasional Run Zombie ๐ŸงŸโ€โ™‚๏ธ episode. Now youโ€™re hitting 10k you might want to enter a virtual race of some kind and earn some running bling ๐Ÿ…the worlds your oyster ๐Ÿ‘

Thank you. I am still amazed at how much I like running. When I started in April I hated it and now my week revolves around how I can fit the runs in around work! Will look at Nike Run Club and see what I fancy doing. Mostly I just go out and see how I feel on the day, saying that I always say going out for a quick 3k and rarely donโ€™t do 5k. Think I am still proving I can do it ๐Ÿ˜‚
