Having only run once in the last 10 days I decided I need to get back on to the running malarkey. Today was my attempt at 10k, I made this decision yesterday. This morning having had one glass ๐ท more than I needed I lay in bed thinking why I shouldnโt go.
Fifteen minutes later out the door. Have a tendency to try to run too fast (well for me) for the first kilometre and then struggle. Set off at a slow pace determined to do it. Different circular route was chosen, very scary as nowhere to bail out if I was too tired.
An hour and sixteen minutes later 10 k done โ . I think I am now officially a runner ๐โโ๏ธ. Still canโt quite believe it.
And on another positive note reached my goal weight ๐
Now what to do next? Longer distance, speed up, make my goal weight a bit less โฆโฆ no idea just going to bask in this achievement for a day or two.
Happy running to you all

You officially became a runner when you ran run 3 of week 6, however I congratulate you on running your first 10K, well done, to get your graduation badge and the word GRADUATE10 next to your username leave a message in the pinned posts on the right side of the healthunlocked November graduation homepage and tell the administrators that you have ran your first 10K ๐.
You are so right but I still have trouble believing it. Drove the 5k run three times as still think it couldnโt be right. I need to start believing in myself. I am going to get my 10k badge as I didnโt claim my 60 minute as felt such a fraud. Today I will accept that I am a runner ๐คฃ
Well done TotalNewbie1 great 10k time, not every run needs to be a challenge so just go out there enjoy it and do what you feel like doing. I use the Nike Run Club app, thereโs lots to choose from on there and I enjoy the occasional Run Zombie ๐งโโ๏ธ episode. Now youโre hitting 10k you might want to enter a virtual race of some kind and earn some running bling ๐ the worlds your oyster ๐
Thank you. I am still amazed at how much I like running. When I started in April I hated it and now my week revolves around how I can fit the runs in around work! Will look at Nike Run Club and see what I fancy doing. Mostly I just go out and see how I feel on the day, saying that I always say going out for a quick 3k and rarely donโt do 5k. Think I am still proving I can do it ๐
